I have the same issue. Slowly starting to go through things and sell some of them off over the past few days. Once you start clearing things away it should be much easier.

spend half an hour each day looking up items to see if they are (a) unorderable or not and (b) whether you care about that item at all or if it's your style at all.

Remember
- a lot of items even if they are kinda rare, you could order later on the forums from someone else.
- you're not enjoying your game because there is stuff everywhere. It makes you feel bad.
- people visit your house in the HHA and are like "damn? I can't even walk in this room".

it's different if you have one room filled with junk but several houses and all your lockers and your beach. "Let it go". You'll feel better about it.

The thing about storing stuff is, no matter how much space you get given, sooner or later you'll fill it up. For that reason I decided early on that I would limit myself to one character and never, ever, leave anything on the ground overnight. That really forces you to be merciless! Recently I snapped and ReTailed about a hundred gyroids that I'd been keeping in my museum, along with piles of unorderables (mermaid, bug, pirate, fish...) I'd been sitting on them waiting to sell them on here but I just realized I probably never would.

I hoard Pokemon like crazy, but my ACNL game is fairly organized

I keep my town and beach tidy but god my house / dresser is a mess. I'm like the opposite in real life (minus clothes everywhere).

Always just want to keep everything ;-;
