Hybrids?

Some kid gave me 1 blue rose for my polka-dot sofa! Breeding mine with a friends blue rose to make babies!

I actually just got so fed up with this that I did some time traveling to test it.

I would water my flowers every day and see how many new flowers spawned. On days where it rained the previous day, there were no new flowers, 100% of the time. On any other day, there would be new flowers.

So I don't know what's up with it, but it's broken =\

It's probably got to do with the Beautiful Town Ordinance. My sister's town has the Night Owl Ordinance and mine has the Beautiful Town Ordinance, and my sister gets way more hybrids per day than I do. She already has a whole garden full of hybrids and all I have is a measly handful of pink lilies and orange roses.

Maybe this will resolve when we escape this rainy season then? Otherwise I guess I'll just change to night owl, seeing as the last thing I need right now is my villagers to add to the more than 40 lillies they have collected in the centre of my town.

I have been getting quite a lot of Hybrids, maybe 1-3 a day, but then again my town is pretty much all flowers lol.

This is all too weird... I thought the beautiful town ordinance made hybrids explode. Maybe I will switch to another ordinance and see how the flower breeding goes after the rainy season ends, then I can really see if it is just bad luck or a bad ordinance. I really like that flowers never die and weeds never sprout though.

Yeah, but watering daily means flowers won't wilt anyway (so every other day and they never die), and you get a badge for pulling weeds that I feel I'm missing out on. xP So I'm seriously questioning it's worth. Especially since villagers only plant red/white/yellows that if I wanted a billion of I would just steal from the island tours. :/

I have the beautiful town ordinance on my town and I have no issues getting hybrids. In fact, they've increased since I switched the beautiful town ordinance. I get on average ~ 4 hybrids a day. I just got my first blue rose and I trying to get another one so I have a pair to breed. After that, I think I'm going to try my hand at blue pansies.

I feel like I get rarer hybrids switching to beautiful town. I managed to get two purple and three pink roses, and no ugly orange pansies. That, or because flowers don't wilt, I only selectively water what I want to breed. It's tough. After I get my golden watering can, I'll switch back to Bell Boom. ^^ Once I finish landscaping my town I'll probably switch back to beautiful town.

Every day I start up AC I'm like, "Hmm... What a beautiful day. Well, I don't need to meticulously maintain my flowers. Just one weed to pull. Yay!" It gets a little boring, like my village is stuck in stasis.
