How would you improve swimming?

I love swimming in new horizons but if I were to nitpick...it would probably be with how slow swimming is and with spamming the 'a' button.



Also kinda wish that the other villagers were able to swim(would like to see what outfits they would wear too!

literally everything you said works for me. the swimming is RIDICULOUSLY slow. I don't think it's good for my controller to be mashing the A button, and OMG if villagers could swim I would die of cuteness overload

I'm use to the slow swimming speed from New Leaf, but do wish it was a tad faster hehe

The speed of swimming for sure. Why are we so slow? They should introduce an item (maybe swimming flippers or something) that would allow you to swim faster!

I also wish villagers could swim as well! It would be freaking ADORABLE to see that, I swear. And I’d love them to have little swimming outfits and everything

I also wish there were things like sharks chomping on you/jellyfish stinging you lol. It would make swimming a little more of a challenge, but I think it would be interesting

While I do not mind the speed of swimming, improving the speed would be nice. Holding down the A button as someone said here will help avoid breaking our controllers and that it is less tedious to try and swim. Oh, it would also be nice if our pockets filled with fish and sea creatures can be released anytime we're in the water so we don't have to constantly swap things every time we catch sea creatures with our pockets full.

Definitely the speed of swimming. Maybe villagers in the water as well. Other than that I have no other ideas. I like it.

You can actually hold A to swim, it's just not quite full-speed like spamming A is. And you only have to steer with the joystick, the paddling propels you forward.

My only gripe personally is with turning while underwater - I don't get why it's like that lol

Make it less addictive, I can't stop. I have bugs to hunt for but I just find it nicer to jump into the water and casually swim around the island hunting for critters.
Seriously I can't find anything to complain. Minght play New Leaf later, feels like the controls are smoother.
To be honest I always enjoyed swimming in the previous game too and this is more of that with some tweeks. I'm easy to please.
I guess speed is something people want so yeah, I can do with more speed too.
