How does trading/selling villagers work? Half of my town residents I don't like and I'm just itching to wait until they want to move; however, I don't just want any random villager moving in afterwards. There are a couple that I really want, but I'll list them in another thread in the future. x'D
So yep, how does it work really? How do you get them to move to a specific town and what not? And how much would it usually cost to buy a villager from someone else?

Thanks for any help, I'm extremely curious. :)

On the forum here, there is the villager trading plaza. There, people put their villagers up for sale, trade, giveaway, etc.
You then would go to that person's town, or they'd come to yours, talk to the villager, and the villager would be convinced to move in.

To avoid random move ins, you can have 10 villagers. It automatically stops you from getting a random move in. Sometimes if you play with someone online, you get their voided villagers. Voided villagers are the ones you see in your mainstreet after they move.

Villagers are in tiers on the forum. Tier 1 and 2 villagers can be quite pricey. they go for around 30 to 100 tbt. 100 tbt is considered 20 million in game bells. Checking the villager trading plaza, people have threads on villagers, so if there are certain ones, you can buy them from there.

Hope this helps.

villager costs can vary depending how popular they are! i think popularity changes around but usually its the same villagers that're really popular. villagers can vary from really cheap (or even free if you're lucky) to really expensive due to their popularity. if someone has a villager that you want and they offer you to have them you just travel to their town and talk to the villager that is moving out and convince them to move to your town. after that you can return to your town, the villager you just asked to move in will put their plot of land in your town in the next day or so. as for random move-ins those are really tricky. sometimes random move-ins happen when another player comes over and has a villager in their void (which means that the villager never went to a new town so they're kinda just... there? i guess xD) so when the player comes to your town the villager automatically puts their plot in your town. and sometimes random move-ins happen because you may have not enough villagers in your town (i think the limit is 5 villagers) or just because. so possibly the best way to avoid random move-ins is to make sure visitors/hosts have cleared their void (they can do this by going to someones town that has 10 villagers which is the max amount, that way the villager cant suddenly move in) or to have the max amount of villagers so that no one can move in.

i hope this helps! :)

There are also people with free cycling threads or only 25 tbt. Once you have an opening after a villager you have allowed to leave has left, you to someone's cycling town and talk to that villager in their house while they are packed up in boxes. You will have the option to invite them to your town.

If you're wanting to use this site to get your villagers it is definitely worth it to start saving up tbt now, since that is what most cycling towns use on here. Just keep participating and posting to build your tbt up

Often not much trading happens in the trading plaza whenever people put their villagers up for trade. So I say your best bet is when they are moving out depending on their tier you can try to make a little profit from selling them for TBT and maybe lurking on a couple of cycling threads for the villagers you want beforehand, because if you've lurked on several if you don't have room at the time the villager is available to you, you can always get them from another cycler when you do. That and it just makes things easier, since not all cyclers have the time to comment on separate threads to their own saying they have a villager. Also if you sell them for TBT, that means you'll have TBT ready for when that villager does become available rather than having to grind for it in threads. Like somebody else said there's a lot of free cycling threads nowadays in the VTP, so you probably won't have much of a problem getting the villagers you need. It's also a good idea to write down who you're looking for in the looking thread as not all cyclers put down their list of villagers who currently live in town and more often than not they'll probably PM or VM you about them. Good luck!

Thanks guys for all your help! I definitely feel more educated.
