How to stay motivated with two towns

So I bought another cartridge and havent really used it since it's more at the beginning than my current town, however I would love to have another town to create new themes and new villagers with. It's just hard to get started when you have nothing. It's a lot of work. ;w;

Anyone have any advice on how to make starting up a new town easier and less painful?

A good idea is transfering goods from a town to another if you have another 3DS.
I've exchanged perfect fruits from two towns which I had and got a lot of bells.

With the local wi-fi I got houses displayed in the Happy Home Showcase which was originally useless.

A good idea is transfering tools which are not being sold in the shop like the slingshot and the megaphone.

I'm having the same dilemma! I'm kind of just taking it a day at a time. I know I could transfer items over etc, but I feel like that wouldn't give me the same level of satisfaction? But I know that the momentum in my new town will gradually increase - I just unlocked the island so at least now I have a good way of getting a decent amount of bells!

I think a good way to keep yourself motivated is to maybe play the game in a different way to how you played your first town? Like. I was never much of a collector in my original town, but in my new one I'm proper serious about it. Like ticking off the items I get and buying all the stuff in the shops etc. I never did that before. Different is fun!!

I am struggling with how gross the majority of my villagers are, but it's fine it's fine. It's a work in progress it's fine.

i really really tried to make degu into a pretty town but i just couldnt do it and i turned it into a cycle town and a hybrid junk town. i can't hold onto the motivation to actively create two towns at once.



maybe once i finish working on incheon and it's 100% where i want it, maybe then i can look into having my 2nd town transformed into a beautiful town like my main.

I have three towns, but I mostly stick to my newest one, oddly enough. My first town I felt was 'finished' so I haven't touched it in almost a year. My middle one I hate and I never play it, but my third one just came out nicely and I love it. I sent a lot of bells and items to my new towns just so that I didn't have to wait too long to pay things off so I upgraded quickly and was able to start landscaping and such from the start, so it didn't have too much of a new town feel to it. I think having 2 3DSes for the last year helped, it made it easy to trade between my towns.

Moving items from your other town helps. If you don't have another 3DS ask if you can drop items in another players towns. Switch cartridges and than pick it up. Make sure you have everything ready before asking.

Started a new town awhile ago and reopened with the update. I'm going with a relax play and letting the villagers come and go.
When I'm ready to play it as a real town I can use the cards to get the villagers I want. Find it very relaxing and can just go about my day/night.

Setting new town in a different season helps to make it more fun. Playing the same event twice in one day is too much.
Right now the new town is ending May. If you have 2 3DS and tt you can make a lot of bells on a high price turnip day. Set your new town to Sunday to buy and than drop the high price town to sell. Made 80 million selling turnips.

I'm going to restart my first town on Jan 1 and do the 1-year challenge or whatever. I kind of want to set it at another season but I'm probably going to forget my dates (since I only use one console). I'm sooo used to TTing all the time that this will be something new for me, I guess. I'm going to make this town very very path-oriented (my first town is only dirt paths) so that villagers can come and go and plot in those spaces after they leave etc. and just take it one day at a time. My favourite part of the game is landscaping, so the beginning part is the best for me (even though unlocking stuff all over again can get annoying) my problem is what happens afterrrr when I'm all done landscaping and I get bored of the game.

Having money in the bank helps tremendously.
It helps you get started up relatively quickly and painlessly, without having to worry about getting money 24/7.

I restarted my town by selling it to Tom Nook, so I had millions in my bank, but in your situation I'd probably just transfer money from your main cartridge to your secondary cartridge.

But everyone's different: I totally get it if you don't want to start out with money, some people see it as "taking the easy way" but I personally find it very helpful.
