I have been too friendly to Frita... I want her off my island. How do I lower her friendship so she'll be more likely to ask to leave? Does ignoring her work?

you could gift her rubbish like boots, tires or rotton turnips
also things like hitting her with a net or pushing her around lowers friendship
ignoring works too, especially when you talk to everyone else on the island because that way they'll feel lonely and want to leave ☆

Lowering friendship doesn’t affect a villager’s likeliness to move out. It’s totally random.

Beat them up (pushing them, hitting them with nets) that's what I do to kick certain people out

according to a recent datamine, villagers with low friendship do indeed have a higher probability of wanting to move out. There's a thread about it.

edit: here's the link

Apparently it does! This video talks about it backed up with datamined information

Basically the lower the friendship level, the more likely the thought bubble will be about moving out rather than gifting your character (since that would require higher friendship)

Thanks, that’s weird because I could have sworn a previous data mine said the opposite. Editing my post though.

You can push her, but that would be pretty mean to do. The nicest option would be to gift her trash I suppose.

Well, if the rest of your villagers have higher friendship compared to her, then Frita would have higher chances of moving out without resorting to cruelty.

Smack them with a net. Each time they get mad, you lose 3pts. Repeat until at 0 points.

Gifting her trash and rotten turnips are probably the least violent option, but you could also just increase your friendship with every other villager so she's more likely to ask

I made the mistake of being told nice to her, and since she is my starting villager, that's been for awhile. I'm going to check today to see who wants to leave.

tbh, I think it only slightly increases the chances of her wanting to move.
I have personally had villagers with higher friendships wanting to leave more (I already have Sherb wanting to move out twice and he's the 3rd villager to gift me his photo) but then I was never outright mean to any villagers so I guess my friendship are more "equalized" if that makes sense.
I'm not saying the datamine is wrong but I don't think that being mean to a villager is a foolproof way to make them leave faster.

I think I was just unlucky to not have Frita with a move out bubble. But she probably has the highest friendship level, since she was here from the start.

If you want their friendship to drop a lil more, if it happens to be their birthday, gifting them trash will take away even more points than it would on a regular day.
