How to get villager photos?

What’s your strategy to get them?
I know that it has been changed around a couple of times. What is the best way to get villager pictures right now??
I haven’t tried to get them in a while now but I’d like to try it again

I have 2 current strategies:
1. to wrap 2 non-native fruit and give that every day until you get the picture
2. fill your inventory and give a stack of non-native fruit so they only take one and have to mail you a gift (I think it’s higher % chance with this method but you won’t know until following day)

these are the two tried and true methods I know of, which also keep the villagers original.

you can also use 3 wrapped coconuts (the sell value must add up to 750 bells) and for the full inventory, in case it is not obvious, you need to leave the stack unwrapped. Coconuts also work for the full inventory method.

I gift a wrapped blue rose wreath daily to villagers from whom I've yet to receive a photo. Just got Julian's today, and am working to receive one from Mira and Audie.

Does it have to be a blue rose wreath or can it be any kind of wreath? Does it add towards the number of house furniture? I heard that they start taking away furniture from their house if we give them too many wall furniture

I use stacked non native fruit myself with a full pocket. I have got three photos from this method whereas prior to I hadn't got any pictures. So I'd definitely recommend it!

I had used the iron wall lamp thing previously but with some of my original villagers had fallen foul of their inventory becoming over full and stuff disappearing....

I just gift them fruit and fossils that are wrapped up everyday if I remember. I also make sure to talk to them often.
It does work, because today I got Lily's photo and I was very happy xD

I just talk to my villagers and give them little gifts everyday to work up in the friendship level

i started doing the wrapped fruit method. i began with Merengue about 3 days ago? and i got her picture today. i did have her on my island for months prior to starting this method so we had a good amount of friendship built up, but knowing it's a successful method i'm gonna try it with the rest of my villagers!

I went with blue rose wreaths because they're expensive, but I'm sure it could be any wreath in excess of the minimum amount needed for them to gift you in return. And I have yet to see furniture disappear from their homes as a consequence of my gifting.

I haven't gone out of my way to get villager photos yet and just have been playing the game "normally" and so far have gotten 2/10 pics. When I got Diva's pic, it was because she asked me to catch an ocean fish for her, and since I didn't want her to put it in her house, I gave her a shark (lol). She thought it was so kind of me and gave me her pic in return. When I got my second pic, Sly's pic, I had just delivered a gift to him from another resident, and as a thank you he unexpectedly handed me his pic!

I got 2 of mine naturally by talking to the villagers everyday and giving them clothes that suited them so if you aren't in a hurry I wouldn't worry about it. But if you want them sooner then gifting them foreign fruit every day has worked for me, like others have mentioned
