so i?ve been wanting to place paths in my town for a while now, and as soon as i get started i realise that cube?s house is DIRECTLY in front of the one bridge in my town :/ his house is basically blocking an area where i want to place paths and i need him to leave. any ways i can get him to move out quickly/easily?
Honestly that happened to me and the fastest way to get them to move out without losing your other villagers is time traveling! Time travel to each day/ every other day and ignore him unless he pings you. You need to make sure to talk to all the other villagers to make sure none of them are moving out instead, or one of them may mention a different villager that?s thinking of moving out. It?s time consuming but eventually it will happen! Mostly what I?ve found that other people echoed on here is that annoying them/ hitting them with a net/ putting down your friendship doesn?t really work or make a big difference.
I had Sparro move into a spot that I had been saving for a dreamie that I?d bought. I tried everything to get him to move out - eventually I had to spend a few days time traveling, rejecting other villagers requests to move out. He asked me to move out after I TT?d about a month into the future. No damage is done as long as you have the beautiful town ordinance on.
If you scanned him with an amiibo card, he could be stubborn to move, if not, here's what you do:
(you're going to have to time travel)
Some other info: someone will want to move away every 5 days, after they decide that they are moving, it will be 10 days until they are gone. They will typically 'ping' you to you they are moving (situation 1) at some point in the 10 days (so it could be less than 10 days ) or another villager will mention it to you. (situation 2)
A villager that want's to tell you they are moving are usually outside.
You can tt backwards (only counts as one day) to whatever your starting/current date is after you cancel a move out, to avoid going too far into the future.
1. Find and talk to all your villagers, they could be in stores and museum wings, you can even tt an hour or two to make sure you've spoken to everyone.
2. Time travel 2 days, walk around town and speak to a few villagers, if someone pings you (1) or mentions that someone's moving (2), if no one says anything, tt another 2 days, talk to your villagers, if no one says anything again, tt 1 day. (equals 5 days)
3.You should have someone either telling you "so and so is moving, go talk them out of it!" or the villager themself coming up to you and telling you they are moving. If you want them to stay, tell them not to move, if you want them gone, choose the second option (ie, 'who are you?') then ignore them until they leave to avoid them speaking to you and changing their mind about moving. (if they decide to stay after you tell them they can leave, quit with out saving and try again)
If you are keeping the villager that pinged you and told them to stay, repeat steps 1. and 2. until the desired villager is moving.
Let me know if you need more info, I'm happy to help.
