I'm trying to make Eunice's house cute again.. But she has this beetle that she won't get rid of ;-;
I'd like her to replace it with a moth orchid, because that would go really nicely with the rest of her house. But when I send her the moth orchid she replaces her typewriter instead. And I want her to keep the typewriter.

She really likes her beetle. She tells me she likes to watch it, so I feel sort of bad trying to take it from her. But it clashes and I want my villagers to have cute houses. Silly Eunice.

Any advice?

:/

she has to want to replace it via request

That's so disappointing. I knew that you couldn't request it, and I knew that if you sent her a tabletop item she would replace a random tabletop item. But you mean she'll never replace that butterfly till it's her own idea? That's really bad news:(

Eunice was the first camper I invited into town, btw. I'm still working on fixing her house myself. I collect the mega puffoids I find so that I can keep one in her house when she gets rid of it on a whim! Good luck!

  1. Set the time a few mins before 5pm
  2. Open the game, Eunice must be in her house. If not, reload the game till she is.
  3. Send her the moth orchid in the letter
  4. After 5pm, visit her house. If the moth orchid is not where you want it, or doesn't replace the beetle reset and do it again.
This is what works for me when I want a villager to replace something in their house. It also works at 9am.
If it will replace the bug I am not sure, but worth a shot ha?

Especially since the typewriter is already out. But you'll have to send something to get rid of the moth orchid first, because she won't move the butterfly to put out a second moth orchid. I'd go back and forth between a moth orchid and a plain flower for a while just to see. If it fails, then send the typewriter back in. And let us know if it works!

I've had villagers' who have had two of the exact same bug in their house before. I don't think already having it in the house really matters. o-o;

I've had Stinky have two pet fleas in his house before...

What I've seen is that they will have two of an item if they have empty space to fill, but they won't replace an item with something they already have. I'm not sure if I'm saying it clearly though. For example, Lucky had two pyramids and got rid of one. He had a big empty spot, I sent him the pyramid and now he has two again. But I think if he replaced one of his pyramids with a modern bed, he would not replace that bed with a second pyramid if I sent it. I'd have to get rid of the modern bed and have empty space first. I'm not positive I'm right on this, but I hope I've at least explained what I mean this time, lol.

I've never had this problem with using the trick I have shown above??? o.o;

Interesting. I didn't realize you had tried it with duplicate items before. I've been trying to get an extra marshmallow chair into Bangles house, but she won't put it out since she has one. I'll try again at one of those times:)

It's pretty much luck based at times, sigh. TTwTT
Just don't send them more than one at the same time if you are expecting more than two will appear in the villager's house. Only one will show up. Unless you really want this villager to use it! Sometimes they don't even use the item you send them.... luck based again.

Resetting helps!
