How rare are scallops really?

I mean I've had plenty of times where it took me a decent while to find one and plenty of times I found one within my first few dives of the day, so uh

neither rare nor common, I guess?

I'd say they're fairly common but not *too* common, y'know? I get sea grapes every 5 seconds and scallops every 50

I have found maybe 10 scallops total after catching over 250 sea critters? Most of what I’ve found have been sea grapes and spotted garden eels. And still not a single pearl to be found (ty Pascal for giving me the only two I have) 😭

it's hard to tell like what everyone else is saying. there are times where after i catch one, i keep catching it again and that is frustrating because there was a day i couldn't get it until after i have to clear my pockets again. why was it suddenly rare that day smh.

i caught my first pearl today. whoever said they got 5 pearls from diving has to have been swimming for 6 hours. because........

They are pretty common for me, thankfully. I can usually find one within 5 or 10 mins

They're not uncommon for me - typically, after having tossed out all useless creatures like barnacles and jellyfish for the more valuable ones (I do a lot of catch-and-release lol) I end up coming onshore with 3-4 scallops in my pockets. They're also a little easier to narrow down once you're familiar with their bubble columns. Granted, they have the same columns as octopus and gazami crabs...
