How old would you say the villagers are?

I always thought of most as children. Except Uchi who seem to be teenagers, and Cranky I imagine as adults.

I feel like peppy, lazy and smug villagers are definitely children, possibly preteens in the case of the former. Cranky I would say most likely adults, and I feel like normals may be as well. Uchi, probably older teenagers? Not really sure!
How are children able to live on their own? No idea! I'm really just basing this on how they act and what their mental age seems to be. I suppose they would all be older teens or above.

I mentioned this a while back on another board. Here's what I think:
Lazy and normal: mid teenager to young adult
Jock and peppy: young teenager to young adult
Uchi and smug: late teenager to mid adult
Snooty and cranky: young adult to old adult.

I kind of imagine their ages like that of real dogs. 1 year=15 in human that would be lazy (the puppies, kittens, cubs what have you), 11=60 in human that would be cranky, and so on. Obviously not every villager fits this.

I would say they would all be young adult, since (being a little realistic here ;3) they own a house and all, they couldn't be children or teens. And the way they talk, doesn't seem very childish.
All personalities seem to be young adults (around 18-25,idk xd) but cranky seem a bit older, maybe adults like (28+)
But it would seem kind of weird to have children playing with 25-30 year old virtual animals xd

Snoites and crankies are middle aged. Jocks are teenagers. So are normals. Peppies and lazies to me are the young ones. There is a comment smoothes make sometimes that suggests their in their 40s I think.

I don't understand why people would think that lazies are younger than jocks. The way the jocks obsess with sports and how they have a higher pitched voice makes me think that they are younger than lazies. The only characters we know the ages of are Crazy Redd who is 35 and Blathers who is in his mid-20's. I've also heard that Celeste is 10 years younger than Blathers which means she's a teenager. That was in Wild World, by the way.

Related, I wonder how old special town characters are like Isabelle and the shop owners? Particularly, I always thought of Tom Nook as being pretty old, like late 50's.

I feel like some are older than the character you play because a couple of my villagers before have said "Look at you, all grown up now!" and "I always look up to you like your an older sister." I don't know, but some seem like adults like Rocket and others like for example Stitches act like children, so I'm not really sure. I feel they vary in ages but most are younger than your character.

I always thought Tom Nook could be in his 20's or 30's, then New Leaf came out and they made him look much older (I preferred his appearance in the older games and the movie where he looked younger). I'd say that Isabelle is definitely around her 20's, Rover might be in his 20's or 30's, Sable in her 30's, Mabel in her 20's, Kicks in his 30's or 40's, Tortimer in his 90's or older, Dr Shrunk is over 100 years old, Kapp'n is probably in his 40's or 50's and K.K. Slider maybe in his 20's or 30's. I could go on for almost every special character but I don't want to create a wall of text.
EDIT: In Animal Crossing GCN, lazy villagers say the following when they give you an item after choosing left, middle or right: "My uncle once told me this long ago, he said "Today you are a man!"". This could mean that they are all adults and that the lazy villager was referring to when they became an adult.
