How Old Do You Think Your Villagers Are?

I just randomly started thinking about this. They all have birthdays or whatever, but how old are they really?

Discuss how old you think some of your villagers are!

-Fang always complains about how old he is, but I dunno. I get the feeling he could be like 32.
-Rodeo and Peck seem like they're in their early 20s. 23 maybe?
-Bonbon would be the 20yo pop star sensation everyone always talks about.
-Roscoe strikes me as mid 40s/early 50s
-Daisy is obviously young. 25 maybe?
-Deirdre is the tough 30yo.
-Boone is that 28yo star college football player.
-Charlise is like 35. Gross.
-And Ribbot I can't really tell. Is that rust I see?

I was just thinking about my character 'headcanons' last night and decided Rizzo is the oldest, probably middle aged, and Marshal is actually in his early 20's but has old man hobbies and quirks. Like he probably owns a grandpa sweater. You know the one.

My headcanon is that each personality type has an age range, which all of my villagers neatly fall under.

Uchi: 20-24 (Shari is 20, Muffy is 22)
Normal: 16-19 (Maple is 17, Molly is 18)
Smug: 21-25 (Zell is 23)
Snooty: 26-32 (Olivia is 30)
Lazy: 7-11
Jock: 13-17
Peppy: 10-14 (Penelope is 10, Ruby is 13)
Cranky: 40+ (Apollo is like 42 or w/e)

Portia, she once told Croque she was much older than him, so...36. Not in dog years, of course.
Shari is probably about 19, since she seems so athletic.
Jitters is maybe 16?
Kabuki is about 43.
Flora thinks she's a superstar, so I'll say 15.
Zell is a flirt, so probably around 23.
Curt is I guess 31.
Finally, Gruff...umm...51.

I never really thought about it, but I've had villagers comment about chicks being yellow and changing color when they grow up. Then they mention that they wonder if they'll change color too when they grow up. I think it was the normal villagers...so I think they are still very young.

I never really thought about it, but I've had villagers comment about chicks being yellow and changing color when they grow up. Then they mention that they wonder if they'll change color too when they grow up. I think it was the normal villagers...so I think they are still very young.

I think that's a lazy thing. Bones asks me what age you should start acting like a grown-up, after which he comments that he doesn't know if he wants to because he heard you grow fangs and horns when you do--then he realized that was gargoyles.

Interesting topic that I actually never gave much though to. For my current permanent 7:

• Bianca (Peppy): 16; Seems like a high-school cheerleader/everything-is-fantastic-forever kind of type. Almost sickeningly optimistic.
• Freya (Snooty): 26; Mature at times but often slips into petulance, sometimes hard to distinguish which it is. Immediately judgmental of others.
• Lucky (Lazy): 14; Accident prone, awkward, and often teased by others, but keeps a good attitude through nonchalance. Freshman, just entering high school.
• Mott (Jock): 18; His default outfit is a varsity jacket so it's obvious that he'd be a Senior. Would become a 'dudebro' in seconds if it wasn't for his habit of acting like an older brother/coach to everyone. Still hasn't picked a college yet.
• Pashmina (Uchi): 21; Nose-to-the-grindstone college student (hence the late bedtime). Probably studying for a medical degree. Confident and caring (despite the personality description, she's never talked to me about fighting). Doesn't drink.
• Shep (Smug): 27; Through a series of strange inter-family events, he hasn't and won't have to work a day in his life. As a result, he hasn't grown up much since high school. Watches anime (he actually told me outright). Probably a stoner.
• Skye (Normal): 30; Kind almost to a fault and well-rounded in her hobbies and interests. Enjoys cooking, clothes shopping, and interior decorating most of all. A genuine sweetheart, if a little na?ve.

For the definite 2 that have yet to move in (my 10th villager is undecided):

• Marshal (Smug): 15; Loner who usually sticks to the library. Believes writing poetry is 'edgy' and 'deep'. Thinks he's way cooler than he actually is. Would become a goth if he didn't think it would be a conformist move. Doesn't like being called 'cute,' even though he is. Would go to the same school as Bianca, Lucky, and Mott, but wouldn't talk to any of them willingly.
• Hamphrey (Cranky): 43; On the verge of having a midlife crisis. Questioning why he moved into a village where he is 10 years older than any of his neighbors. Possibly going insane. A late-in-life axe murderer in the making. Will still keep smiling though. The whole time. "He seemed so normal..." the news reports will say.

I usually just assume all of my villagers are in they're late teens or early twenties, unless they're a Smug or a Cranky. I usually think of them as mid to late twenties cause a person needs a lot of time to figure out how to be that charismatic or cynical.

I view most of my villagers in the 19 year old ~ 23 year olders, so they aren't that old. But I also see some of the villagers who mention having family (I believe it's cranky? the ones that talk about nieces/nephews) and I see them as being 25~28.
