as a bonus, how long are your play sessions usually?

I ask this because I've noticed that even though I really love video games, I don't actually play them very much at all. I can go days (or even weeks) without playing any games at all. lately I've been playing some stuff, but it's only been every other day and in short bursts from 5-30 minutes.

it's been a very long time since I sat down and actually played a game for a while, but I do like watching others play games on Youtube and Twitch, so in a way I'm still consuming the content. I also still like to draw characters from my favourite games, and write stories about them, and read about them on articles/wikis. I just think that my interest in actually playing video games has waned a bit.

Oh I play games all the time, though I feel like I need to decrease my gaming time as it's a bit too much.

And on the topic of games, the only ones I play are Animal Crossing, Mario Kart and Pokémon. I really would like to expand my gaming library at some point in the future, but I'm a bit too lazy on this.

Every day usually, I'm totally addicted, though not to an unhealthy point I don't believe. I'm frequently switching between a number of different games. Sessions can range from a few minutes to several hours. Right now I actually can't remember the last time I went a day without playing some game at least a little bit. I have to be either sick or abnormally busy to go a whole day without playing something.

I am like you there are the only games I play as well

Pretty much every day! Although I play less now than I did when I was younger, I still play them often. On work days I usually only play an hour or two but on off days I play for 5 or more hours. I'm not a huge fan of TV or YT or whatever so if I've got free time (and I'm not just too exhausted to play) I'm probably playing games😅 Lately I've been playing skyward sword HD!

Every day. I like to try new games, mostly mobile. Most my gaming is on my Switch. My shortest play time is usually a hour and my max is 3 hours. Though I have played 4-6 hours especially on a new launch title, but I usually feel very haggard, lol.

Not as much as I would like to! I'd play daily if I could. I try to at least play a little on the weekends even if I can't find time on weekdays.

My game sessions are normally 1-3hrs. When I had more free time it was much more.

I managed to play two (mostly) uninterrupted hours of Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! on the train today. I was very pleased with this.

I had a very unhealthy relationship with video games from the age of 8-20. I spent almost all of my free time on them and put old hobbies like reading to the curb in favor of them.

Now it varies and I can go days without playing them to spending several hours at once on them. It depends on how busy I am that day, although no matter what I try to get at least some reading and a walk in every day too.

I can play up to 4 hours per session before I feel I need a break 😭 When I have absolutely nothing to do that day, I can go up to 8 hours for the day (in bursts of course, I still need to eat and rest LOL)
Though I've been absolutely busy lately so maybe 1-2 hours max per day. 2 hours is pretty generous for my current sched already lmao.

It’s not often that I become invested in my games anymore. Usually, I’ll go on my Wii/PS2, revisit a game I haven’t played in a while, then get bored and not play again for another extended period.

I mostly completed putting together a new movie watching/gaming setup with 5.1 surround in my house, but have not taken advantage of the system yet as the area still needs to get cleaned up. When finished, it’ll be an enjoyable experience, and with extra free time coming up, I may be able to play for longer periods once again.
I just hope I don’t get addicted to Spyro again

I wish I could play more. After work I usually play browser games, then after dinner I get into games for 1-3 hours.

On the weekend I usually do the dailies for my browser games and then get into games. I can't really do long sessions anymore though. For one there's usually something that gets in the way, but I also don't really have the energy for all that anymore. It's easier to just watch something comfy on YouTube while browsing the web. I spend more time buying games than actually playing them. >.<

But this usually goes for PC games. When there's a new Nintendo game I play it when it comes out until it's done. It's easier to just lie in bed and play on the Switch while watching TV. And with the amount of games I'm personally interested in I really don't get burned out either. I really need a Steam Deck tbh, but turning my mid laptop into a browser game machine would also be lowkey silly. It's expensive either way.

Unfortunately video games compete with other hobbies. I might play games with my younger family members, but not touch a game on my own for days or weeks at a time.

Games are often a large time sink. It means I'm going to have to regularly sit and commit to sessions and slowly chip and chunk away. I'm not as into that idea anymore.

If I can find a game that gets me fully invested, I will set aside other stuff to let myself get into it. Those are very special experiences.

It depends on my mood, honestly! Sometimes I'll pour basically all my free time into games, but if I'm more in the mood to work on creative projects, I might scarcely touch any of my games for weeks at a time. My interest in my hobbies has always tended to come in phases, but it always cycles back around sooner or later.
Likewise though, even if I'm not actually playing a game, some of my hobbies will sometimes still revolve around them, whether that's watching playthroughs on Youtube, thinking about the story/characters, coming up with fan characters, etc.

My gaming sessions typically cap out at around three hours or a smidge over. After that, even if I love the game, I get tired and need a break to go do something else for a while. If I have time I might come back for another session later though!
I used to be able to play for longer, but I think in most cases, that was more "younger me not knowing my limits and pushing it" than actually enjoying longer sessions ahahah. 😅

I've been spending a lot more time on browser games on my phone than any of my actual video games recently. My health and moods just make it really hard to want to do anything...

I used to spend a lot more time on gaming when I was a kid. Now I try to play almost everyday but don’t always have time. I usually average about 30mintues to an hour. Sometimes if I have the day off I will play on and off all day. Sometimes I take a break from gaming and read a book instead.

I go through phases where I play console games every day to months or a year or so without touching it. For awhile, I was just playing gacha games but I got burnt out and then I fell into serious depression where I needed a break from them and couldn’t really do anything fun. Had @Yanrima~ not reached out to me and chatted about Splatoon with me, I probably would still be on a hiatus from console games even when tbtwc came. Thanks Yanrima again ☺️.

Every day, probably for 35-50 minutes, maybe more. From my gacha dailies, to whatever games I'm playing on my Xbox, Switch, 3DS or PC. I'll even mute the game, like Breath of the Wild for example, to walk around and listen to audiobooks, which can add to my game time. Highly recommend it.

there's one mobile game where i try to go on as much daily for the checkin rewards but it's a hit or miss if i remember to do it during the day

i'm pretty consistent with going on animal crossing daily because of minimal island maintenance, still hunting for that last statue, and just completely the daily nook mile tasks. usually i'll play for an hour or more, give or take on if i get bursts of energy and inspiration or not

games like genshin or honkai... i've been pretty bad at playing them lately but!!! i recently finished this one world quest in genshin that i've been procrastinating since it's from a region that i'm not super crazy about (i'm so sorry sumeru) but i'm slowly gonna work on the quests for both games...eventually. i like to play with my headphones instead of my earbuds cause my ears get sore after like 2-3 hours and that's normally it for the day, unless i'm super invested then i'll take a break before booting the game back up and continuing

It varies! I go through phases where playing games is one of my biggest interests and I spend at least a few hours every day gaming, and I also go through phases where I don't play a single game for weeks or even months.

I'm playing Cozy Grove and Splatoon 3 right now. I try to play CG every day, and play Splatoon when I can/want to. I spend about 2-3 hours playing CG each day (not all at once), and about 1-2 hours playing Splatoon (sometimes more), depending on what I do. These are the only games I'm actively playing right now, so I'd say I don't spend more than 4 hours total playing on days where I play both. There are also still days where I don't play anything. Usagi Shima received an update the other day though, so my daily gaming time is about to increase a little! Not by much since it's an idle game, so it'll probably only increase by like... half an hour max.

There are a few other games I'm interested in getting and checking out, so I don't see me going through one of my phases where I don't play any games for a while. I'm trying to not spend too much time gaming though, since I have responsibilities and other hobbies I want to do! I mostly just game when I want to and when I have the time, and if there's days where I don't play anything, oh well.

I don't play that much. I could go months without playing, and then there would be games I play for months. Those games usually include sports games, in which I delve deep into the dynasty mode. I can almost guarantee that I'll be playing the College Football 25 game A TON!
