How often do villagers actually ask to move out?

I feel like, just a few weeks ago, villagers would think about moving out every couple o’ days but, ever since I hit 10 villagers, I feel like none of them ever ask me to move out. Is it because I have a 5 star island and they legitimately love it here? I have been ignoring three of them whom I feel are expandable for almost 5 days now with no result thus far. Am I doing something wrong?

I know we can kick villagers out using Amiibos but that’s not what I want to do: I want them to move out so I can do some villager-hunting on Mystery Tours.

It's random but it seems to be every 2 weeks in my experience.

I think it also depends on whether you say yes or no when they ask. If you decline, there seems to be a chance for them to ask again faster. After saying no, I’ve had it take up to 12 days for another request but it’s also happened within 4-5 days more than once for me. If you say yes and they actually move out, it seems to always be about two weeks before you get a new request.

As others have said, it feels like about every other week a random villager will ask. I've said no every time so far.

This has been my experience as well. I get it game you want me to push someone out, but I don't want to!

To be honest, I kind of dislike how they handle moving out villagers in this game compared to New Leaf. In NL, you had a little while spend time with them until they left and, even then, you often had the chance to make them stay if you changed your mind. Here, though, it’s like ‘Hey, I was thinking about moving. You’re okay with it? Great ‘cuz I’m leaving tomorrow and my mind is made up and you’ll never see me again’ like... damn.
