How much would you say shaved-ice lamps are worth?

I wouldn't mind paying that much if it were a big item. But it looks so tiny in the pictures! >_< I would feel weird paying so much for an item that isn't even noticeable, you know? And on top of that it's something that you obtain in 5 minutes... make a new character, download the lamp, transfer it to another character, and delete character.

I can't really blame them for charging so much though. I started out giving hair-bow wigs for free, then I started selling them for 20k. Then when people started offering to buy them for 100k, I started selling them for that. Made an auction with the starting bid at 100k, it went up to 1M so I sold it for that. Now that I have my own shop I charge 500k for them which is outrageous considering that the item is only worth 4,800 bells. But I was annoyed over the fact that a lot of the people that I gave the wigs to for free/20k were selling them for 500k-1M so I gave in and decided to sell them for that much myself.

What I'm trying to say is that if the consumer is willing to pay so much for em, the seller will take advantage of the situation.

500k... Glad I bought my bow wig for 300k then. x.x

I can understand effort and motivation being a factor when it comes to pricing, but paying a million bells for it is a little crazy, no matter how good shaved-ice is.

Bow wigs are going for around 500k? I sold mine for 4800. xD

As for the Shaved-Ice Lamps, I refuse to pay over 100k for them. I've gotten a few of them for friends, but I got them by trading my Japanese items for them. Good thing I hoarded some items over the past few months.

I'd love to get one also, willing to part with some bells for the trouble on behalf of the person who gets it for me. :)

Wait.. How exactly does someone get shaved ice lamps? What region?

While 1 million Bells is insane, I also feel like the value of Bells are far lower than before. A million really isn't a massive amount in the grand scheme if you want an item badly! That being said, I got mine for free from a friend so I don't have much room to speak on the matter. :P

Just FYI, I don't think that works. Time travelling back would just generate a new random set of loot even if the day is the same. I tried it once after I missed buying a crown in WW. But that was my only attempt so correct me if I am wrong!

By going to a Nintendo Zone in Europe and then talking to Pelly in the Post-office (while being connected to the Zone). She then hands you the item. My next zone is about 20 minutes walking time away.

There is another way of changing your router settings to emulate a Nintendo Zone but I am to much of a Technic noob to do it.

If you have access to your router information, change the ssid to _The Cloud
Both on the router and in your 3ds settings.
Change it to something else to get the regular dlc, as this will only get you the Europe region dlc :)

The Bow Wig is from Gracie Grace which has much fewer items in the "randomized pool" meaning the bow wig will be appearing every so often as long as you're in the right season(Spring).

This. However, I have seen some people asking almost as much as the 7/11 DLC. Which is really ridiculous, since (at least in the English-speaking AC communities) the shaved-ice lamp is easier to get than the 7/11 stuff.

I got one from an item trading friend in Europe. We're trading/cataloging items back and forth to try to help each other complete our catalogs. If you can find a good set of item swapping friends, everyone in the group can get items for reasonable rates/trades and no one feels cheated/price gouged. I suggest to try to find people like that if you can!

The SSID trick will only work for people physically in that region. They are both region and IP blocked. I have the US regioned game but I couldn't get the Best Buy DLC with the SSID changing trick. It's because I have a Japanese IP address.

Again, though, I found a US item swapping friend to help me get those items. In return, I help them get items that I have that they don't. Fair trades are the way to go.

I would want everyone to give them out for free. Please. If you have one, I would WAnT it so badly.... Please, I begggggg you.....
