How much do you prepare for birthdays?

Yeah, so...villager birthdays...how much do you prepare for them? I find that the game gives you a pretty large window to prepare...but, sometimes I completely forget anyway. I literally had three birthdays this week. I remembered the first two...and then completely forgot to prepare for Curlos. Ended up running around my island this morning and searching for a gift on his list of "good gifts". Those lists are actually pretty extensive...but, I still had some trouble at first. Finally ended up giving him a mountain bike that I was using as island decoration. Hahaha.

So...do you make sure you have something ordered a few days before? Do you order something the night before? Do you just wait till the day of? Do you not bother with villagers birthdays at all? How much thought goes into the process?

I generally have to order something, so I try to get it a few days ahead of time. I don't wrap it until just before I give it, though, since I'll forget what it is.

I usually give clothing, since they'll add it to their wardrobes, but it won't mess with the house design.

Usually I look up an item on a list like you mentioned, but when Lolly came to live on my island I didn't really have any time. She moved in and the day after she was out of boxes was her birthday, so I gave her a paint set. She seemed to like it and even put it on her table, so I got lucky in that instance haha.

I found lopez on an island yesterday and ive already wrapped him like 5 house-warming gifts that ive left outside of his house so you're damn right i prepare too much for bithdays

None of my villagers have had a birthday yet, but I did attend Shari's birthday party on a friend's island. I dressed up, wrapped a gift I thought would suit her, and joined the festivities. I've never looked up 'good gifts' before. I might look into that!

On my own island I'd do the same and write them a little birthday card. ❤

I never remember so I just buy something from the clothing shop or from Nook's on the day of and they always really like the gift.

I prepared for Beau's birthday. I was counting the days, decorated his house, but when the day came, I forgot. I went into his house and Beau and Octavian were partying, and I should have left and dressed well, but it would be weird so I just stayed and talked to them. Beau asked me for a present and I couldn't leave him hanging so I just gave him a bug I gave him something nicer later sorry Beau

i’ve only experienced one birthday so far and i prepared by ordering the present a day in advance and bought wrapping paper for it the day of ;u;

For the last birthday on my island, I just wrapped the gift I was going to give him and dropped it near his house until it was actually his birthday. I used that as a reminder. That's pretty much all I do!

I find them a gift that I want them to have. Normally it is something I am working on changing their home with, something they like, or a clothing item they like. I try to wrap it up in their favorite color. I still remember the shade I got for not wrapping a villager gift on their birthday in New Leaf. I also dress up a bit and take a picture with them in their house.

I usually order something and then wrap it the day before. I've read that wrapping your gifts increases friendship points, so it's a small step with good dividends!

The only birthday on my island so far has been Rocket and I managed to completely forget about it and didn't get her anything. Feel a bit guilty about it now, but, oh well.

i've only had one birthday on my island and it was Biff's. I forgot his birthday was coming and i wouldn't have remembered if it wasn't for Egbert who reminded me that it was going to be the next day! i found it funny because Egbert had just finished unpacking so I was like "how did he know..."

luckily I had ordered sporty glasses so they came on his birthday and I didn't like the way they looked on me so I gave it to him. perfect because he's a jock lol. but usually I order the presents in advance, that one time I just forgot

i like to treat my villagers as my lil children!!,, so i know each of their birthdays and decorate their house that matches their personalities and likes a week before their birthday. c: hehe

First and foremost, I use the Bulletin board and I make a post that includes their names, bdays, favorite color/style.

When said villager bday approaches, I preorder the gift for the specific villager (if I do not have it in my inventory). In addition, I write a bday letter and attach a wrapped bday present (in their preferred color). On the day of the birthday I also bring a gift to their bday party the coincidences with their style/color.

I just wake up that day and find something I don't need and wrap it for them. You can get free furniture from trees and balloons, or just buy something from Nook's if need to.
