How much can I put stuff up at Re-Tail for?

I'm confused about the system

I know that villagers will buy my 3600 bell fossil for 7200 and 4800 for 9600, making it double

But I've heard you can sell for a little bit more than double?

And I've heard that coffee beans sell for 7500 each when they're normally 2400?

If anyone has any specifics, that'd be cool

I was going to make a thread about this. Do they ONLY purchase your goods when they happen to be at the store w/ you? Because nothing has been purchased... unless a villager is present. & by that period, I have lowered my prices severely.

Yah they have to be present to buy. 90% of the time, a villager will walk in before I can sell everything and get out. Usually I don't have the patience to wait for them to go up to something.

I've only been able to sell things while I am in the store itself when villagers are browsing. They will notice one of the items for sale and you talk to them in order to convince them to buy. I have all of my things set to triple the price of what Reese gives and they still buy the items. Does anyone know if villagers buy items when you aren't in the shop at the same time?

Just wait for a villager to come inside and then talk to them and after that just push them to an item and they'll get the ding noise and talk to them and they'll buy it. Works all the time, unless the items are overpriced then they just said it's overpriced.

I've always sold all of my items at triple the price that Reese suggests. I'll leave for a bit and come back and let a villager come in and spot the item. :3

Really helpful info. I never tried the flea market and so I always assumed all of the buying just happened off-screen. Definitely trying this in the morning. c:

I always multiply whatever Reese recommends as the selling price by 4 and then minus a small amount (like 100 bells or something). An easier way to do this is to round the recommended price down and multiply it by 4. E.g: recommended price= 750 bells, round down to 700 bells and sell for 2,800 bells. Hope this helps anyone!

You can sell items 4x the amount Reese suggests minus 1...for example if she says 300 you can sell it for 1199 300x4=1200-1=1199 they buy them every time and say what a great deal they got.

I get away with selling a full stack of native fruit for 5000, villagers buy that about 80% of the time.

My brother bought everything in Re-Tail and put it up for 99,000 bells. One of the things was bought. It hasn't worked for me though. Lol. So I'm not sure how high you can go with things.

I pretty much just stick to 3x Reese's suggested price. She buys from you at 25% the store price, right? Well, I figure 75% of store price is good enough for my cheap townspeople! XD
