How many wasp nests spawn in a day?

I heard that you can get Nook Miles if you catch 5 wasps on a day without getting stung. Of course I wanted to try it out, but I found only 4 wasp nests in my town. I shook all of my trees at least twice. So how many wasp nests are generated each day? Does the number change?

If I remember correctly I think seven? It might also depend on your ratio of trees

I thought it was 5, but perhaps it's dependent on the number of trees in your town?

I’ve only had 3 in a day so not totally sure. But 1-3 also tend to spawn on islands so you can always head to one to finish it off!

I get five every day in my village. There's also one on mystery tours that have non-fruit trees, and yes, there is a 1-time Nook Miles reward for catching five wasps in a row without getting stung.
