I resetted my town twice I think. My first was Seabring which was my day-one town I have a lot of good memories with. I got bored with it pretty far along though and it was around that time I made Stardust, which is still loaded onto my DS. I haven't played in over a year, and I don't want to open it back up at this point. I'm trying hard to make sure New Horizons has a town I'll want to be in for years and years.
I've reset a total of four times, all for their own reasons. The first I had used since I got the game and I loved it, but I wanted a change. In the second town I used too many Amiibos and I got sick of them. I didn't have that town for too long, though. The third was excellent. When I sold it, I simply wanted a fresh start with my brother, who had also just got the game The fourth and final town I got rid of I only had for about a week. The layout didn't appeal to me.
So I restarted instead of selling- which I had done all three other times in the past. I decided to not time travel, use only one Amiibo, and just mosey without a plan. It's been a ball ever since I restarted- and now I can't fathom getting rid of it. I feel like I'm having the same fun, lazy time I had as a kid playing City Folk. It's awesome.
I'm really happy I 'experimented' with the previous towns before this one!
Hm, I've resetted-
Treehut once
Secret once
Kaede once
New Town once
And I think I'm missing another one. However I've also map cycled ALOT, does that count? Lol.
So far I can count a definite four times. Seems about right; I have five towns.
Not sure on previous games but for NL It's been around 3 times for me. Over the span of when the game was first released to early 2019. Never completed the bug/fish/deep sea creature encyclopedia either. I kind of just played the game whenever I felt like it. But I was younger then though so, it's understandable.
Just waiting on NH now. Will absolutely put my all into that game.
I have only reset one time a couple of years ago. Part of me kinda regrets it and part of me doesn't. I had lots of fun coming up with a new town name and everything. But it got put on the backburner for a while. Now I'm trying to just complete my house before New Horizons comes out.
I am trying to see if I can get it boosted up to perfect town. I just can't figure out what theme I want to go with. So, it seems to be a more natural town than a highly developed perfectly themed town.
i reset my third game’s town so many times; it went from being a cycling town to a town that i actually wanted to develop and decorate so many times lol
zero times (for now) even though Im not happy with everything I learned to accept it.
Im honestly scared that my data gets corrupted tho oof. (dont know how to back-up)
My first town I was completely new to the idea of resetting. So I didn't even think about that option which starting the game up the first time. So I chose the map that was the best out of the options. By the time I considered restarting it to have a better map, I just didn't want to to lose all the progress I already had.
My second town was literally days of resetting so I can't really imagine the number. Between trying to get a specific map and a specific fruit.
My third town took several hours looking for a particular map.
I reset at least 3 times with my second town. It was mostly just because I wanted a different native fruit to what I have in my first town, and also because I didn't like where some of the rocks had been placed.
I?ve never reset my town. There?s lots I?m not happy with but I can?t bring myself to do it. It?s like a record of my time with Animal Crossing. A town isn?t just having a pretty map and certain fruit. It?s the hundreds of hours you plough into it. It?s the frustration over that one rock that?s in the wrong place, and the imagination and creativity to to overcome problems and make something awkward look beautiful. I could never have the heart to reset my town.
I only reset my town twice. The first time was my old town which I had been playing in for years. The second time was a few weeks after when I made a town named Lotus. I decided I didn't like Lotus as much as I did in the start, so I reset again and the following town still exists today.
