How many times have you reset to get the "perfect" map?

So after a long break from my 3DS, I opened it back up and found my ACNL save file. Being out of the game for so long, I decided to reset. But now I'm running into a small issue...

I can't choose or find the "perfect" map for my town. I am glad we get four options and are able to choose between the four options, unlike any of the other AC games... But I still find myself not happy with any of the map choices, so I reset my game and go through the whole process again. I have seriously lost count of how many times I have reset...

So my question for all of you is, if you have reset your game, what do you look for in a "perfect" map? And how many times have you reset the game to get a "perfect" map?

Ahh i think i wasted a day or two to get a map that i liked and with villagers that i never had before..

It took me quite a while. Around a week maybe? Just because I'd get frustrated after a couple hours and wait til the next day to try again.

It was hard cause I restarted and was looking for the same map I had before, including town call and plaza placement. I didn't find it, but found something that I'm comfortable with and it's turning out great. :)

My advice is to find something that you're content with. It won't always be perfect at first, but as you work on your town, it grows on you ~

1 hour or 1 day, my requirements are, fair proportion of curves in the river and 1 pond and plaza on top and peach/apple/cherry or even maybe pear.

I map reset for an 'interesting' river on launch day for about 45mins. With my second town I reset for a couple of hours as I wanted another interesting river shape, and native fruit/grass that I didn't have in my main town.

Good luck searching for a map you like OP, have fun starting your new town ^^

I didn't reset at all. I chose one of the first map I saw, because I didn't realise about finding a perfect map!
The one I have now is actually the one I started with and the only map I have ever really knew on New Leaf. Im getting a second copy soon so I will be looking to find a perfect map! BUT what is classed as a perfect map to everybody?

I guess I reset quite a few times for the map I have now, but I can't see myself resetting again in the future. I'm 100% happy with my map the way it is.

I was actually quite lucky to stumble across a map that met most of my standards in the first three resets. When I started my first copy, I only chose the first map that popped up because I thought that was the only choice...

Zero. I have no patience, and I don't really obsess love these things. Same goes for plot resetting, I'm not picky.

haha, countless times. as in, thousands counting all my towns, no exaggeration. I'm very picky about maps and there's a very specific "formula" I like on maps: straight river that only turns once or twice, re-tail and town hall on top, centered plaza, two ponds maximum, triangle or circle grass, and the fruit should be apples/cherries/peaches. I've gotten a few maps like that, luckily! I'm currently resetting my second copy for a perfect map, have come across many that are almost perfect but have SOME thing off, it's annoying but I'm very patient and a perfectionist.

Not even once. The first map I got, I sticked with it. There is no such thing as a "perfect map", but what you do in it rather.
