I’m getting Tiffany and Tucker amiibo cards in the mail soon, so they will definitely be permanent villagers which means Egbert and Plucky are going bye bye. Louie is the only jock I will accept so he will stay as well. Carlos disgusts me I need him GONE. Vic and static can leave whenever they feel like it and the rest, Lolly, Cheri, Tammy and Zucker, are gonna stay for a lil while longer.
I for sure want Julian, Kyle and Apollo. When the other 5 slots are open I’m gonna try different villagers and enjoy a lil time with everyone (unless they end up holding a special place in my lil heart)
I don't think any of mine are permanent just yet. I want to meet a lot of different villagers this time round and not worry so much if a cute one leaves.
I have hundreds of amiibo but haven't used them yet as I want to start off with random villagers I wouldn't have chosen.
I'm getting a bit attached to Kiki and Cookie though! I'll definitely try to get their pictures before I let them go.
Honestly, I feel like I would want to cycle a villager out once I've gotten their picture. There are way too many villagers that I like to just keep the same 10 the whole time, and I just feel like things would get a little bland.
I currently have: Raymond, Tia, Beau, Gaston, Butch, Reneigh, Rosie, Judy, Cousteau and Audie.
I plan to let go of Rosie and Judy. I'm on the fence with Audie but I can't find a Peppy I want to have in her place (unless I resign to Bubbles' mastermind plot to move into my island).
Reneigh is also not set, but I don't think any of my other villagers are a part of the "playful" pool so that will play a factor for sure.
The only villagers I don't want to ever let go of are Tia, Gaston and Raymond.
I think my only permanent villager right now is Raymond, Ankha and Genji, but Marshal will probably stay for a long time because he's cute. I love my other villagers a lot but they might be cycled out eventually.
Every single one of my villagers will be able to move on, partly because I think moving on, relinquishing control and appreciating memory/what is transient are major themes of the series and partly because I’m just fickle. It will probably bum me out to “let” some of them leave but that’s fine. That’s a good kind of sadness.
I’m pretty happy to let all of my villagers go other than Willow (purely cause I traded for her and she is my ultimate favourite). I like changing my villagers up from time to time and meeting new villagers I haven’t met before.
i have a bunch of permanent villagers moved in already! dobie, audie, filbert, marshal, chief, and lolly! i also have punchy and genji, who i love, but they have the god-awful starter homes, so they're probably gonna leave. i've been considering either buying amiibo coins online for them or finding them again through the villager network on here. i'm also gonna have vivian and pietro move in sometime in the near future! that should complete my whole village roster.
For mine it's on like a sliding scale of how likely I am to keep them permanently. Billy is on top of that list, Ursala is second, then Sprinkle, then Clay, and at the moment I don't forsee letting them go for a very long time if ever - maaaybe Clay but that depends. After that come the villagers I like for now but have plans one day in the future to replace - Sandy, Monty and Spike. Marina will be replaced by Melba once I get her amiibo. Finally Lionel and Bubbles are who I'm trying to get to leave asap because I'm not fond of them.
Most of mine are permanent! The only ones I'm unsure of are Zucker, Margie, and Audie. I just can't seem to connect with these 3. I might replace Margie with Sylvana given the chance, but I don't know about the other two.
I have a few permanent villagers and a few to cycle! As much as I would love to keep everyone forever, there's too many good choices! Once I've had my fill with a few villagers, I'll probably go looking for some old ones again to keep forever

An extra slot is a smug (since I have two smug dreamies.)
The other extra slot I plan to cycle through amiibo or rando villagers to help others get their dreamies (... link to cycling thread in signature #shamelessplug)
My two undecideds are Skye and Ketchup.
I dont have a set peppy that I really want (considered Merry) so I debated on making Ketchup a permanent member as my peppy. She is adorable with a cute interior. Its just the duck talk animation seems to just... bother me.
Coco is my dreamie, but Skye's look screams aesthetic. Lol. I may keep Skye until I eventually get Coco. Then have to decided if I will have 2 normals (and thus no more cycling) or if I will be let her go... or I may end up like what I am going to do with Stitches and Biskit. Stitches has been a long time dreamie (i love stuffed animals...) but his home exterior bothers me a lot since it is just so mature for da baby. So... i may end up with a dreamie flip on NH that I've never done before. o.o
I might replace Margie with Sylvana given the chance, but I don't know about the other two.
