How many of you guys are old enough to vote?

I just realized that although this site can get pretty political there are probably a lot of users that can't even vote in their countries yet.

I'm from Canada and our voting age is 18 so I've voted in 2 federal elections now (I'm kind of old).

How about you guys? Are you of age yet? What's the voting age where you're from?

It's also 18 here in the US, but I must admit up until the recent presidential campaigning I was very apolitical and didn't participate in voting for my own local/state representatives. This November will be my first time seriously voting and even when it isn't a "huge" election year I still plan on becoming more aware after this.

Voting's an important right you have and one of the few ways your voice can be heard! The political system in itself is still pretty corrupt and you may feel like your vote doesn't matter (especially if your candidate loses), but if you don't, then you're just guaranteeing a loss to those who share similar ideals to yours.

I was 18 when I voted in my first (and only, so far) general election.

It is young! and I think 16 is a good age, honestly I believe the voting age should be lowered in most cases.

I'm too young as I'm 16, but I'll be 18 in about a year and a half. I won't be able to vote in a presidential election here until 2020 though.
