how many eggs are there

so i collected a lot of eggs do they respawn sometime in the game or is there a certain number of eggs that are hidden underground.

Well in my town there are four different characters. (1 for each member of my family.)

Each member of my family had their own "separate eggs" they could find, so If you have more than one character, I suggest doing that.

Each person on your Wii will have 30 eggs, 12 of which have bunny foil. Any eggs you fail to find before logging off will re-spawn next time you get on.

EDIT: Also, is it just me or is the Egg set the most hideously ugly set ever?
