Have I ever restarted a town? Hmm this really takes me back to Animal Crossings for Gamecube. I played that game like religiously for about 2 years when I was younger, my mom and sister had also joined the town. As time went on I felt like I had completed everything, finished the museum caught all the fish and bugs completed the island. My mom moved on and my sister moved out so it was just me in this little ol town redoing the same thing day after day. That's when I decided, hmm maybe I should start over and start fresh. Worst mistake ever. Redoing everything ended up feeling tedious and I lost the magic that I had playing with my family that I ended up never touching the game again after about a week or so.
Animal Crossing City Folk I never truly enjoyed as much as the Gamecube version, but I never restarted the town after my experiences with the Gamecube version.
As of now for New Leaf though, my town is a good month and a few weeks in and I'm enjoying it greatly. I feel the connectivity with the forums has been staying with the game, albeit me seemingly breezing through the content. The Island Bugs really spoiled the money making aspect of the game for me and as a result I've finished my house extremely quickly.

I don't have any plans to restart my game as with being able to demolish *most* public works, if my town ever feels stale I can completely redo it to fit my desires. With the Golden axe at my disposal I can ever start redoing all my trees too. I can't really justify starting over will make the game more fun to me, but to each their own.
