I see a lot of new people here so am just trying to figure out how long most of you have been playing and it seems a divide between if people tt or not and also how many people have more than one town. So I figured I would ask. Do you play solo a lot or has the site made it more interactive for you in game play?

I've been playing for two and a half years and have never restarted c: I still have my first ever town and play daily. I occasionally time travel when I'm demolishing and replacing my pwps, but I felt like it was affecting my town tree's growth even though I didn't do it excessively. I haven't been tting lately and my tree finally grew again (it's one growth phase away from being fully grown).

I've played acnl since the day it was released in my country which I think was July or June 2013?
I do tt sometimes if I wan't to finish pwps faster but I usually just casually play it.

A while, idk, a good few years. I used to TT a lot but recently got a new game and i'm trying not to TT in this game (or at least not much)

I've been playing this game since July 16, 2013. A month and a week from release date.

I do TT. sometimes a lot, other times barely any

I've only played for two and a half months and only TT'ed to move out unwanted villagers.

I got it on 14 July 2013 (my birthday) so.. almost 3 years, wow! and my town isn't even that good despite having had it since then
and I don't tt :)

I bought the game in March 2014, but go for long periods without playing. I'll play mostly during the spring/summer months, but have never been around for the autumn or winter holidays, and haven't done most of the events. I've done April Fool's Day and the Summer Solstice, and that's about it.

I time travel, but usually only to cycle villagers. If someone I hate is moving, I'll travel to their moving day, and if someone I hate or need to trade out is around, I'll time travel until they say they're moving. I'm pretty paranoid about time traveling because eight of my villagers are intended to be permanent.

I have been playing since a day after the game came out in the US. I only TT in my 2nd town because its a junk town with storage for my main town. But in my main town I will sometimes move the time to a certain time so that way I don't miss events or I get to check into every store.

I am not against time traveling, but you have to be especially cautious when and if you decide to do it. Going on a time travel spree could cost you one of your favorite villagers to pull a fast one on you by asking to move out. "Oh December 9th is getting lame, let's go to December 10th!... One our villagers, Beau will be leaving tomorrow" Oops... . I only time travel if I need to get some work done in my town and when I do I am extremely cautious especially as someone who has all of their dreamies now.

Play safe. :D

I started on June 14, 2013. My main town was set one day ahead and the clock is 4 hours behind. I did this so I don't have to play events in game when I should be celebrating with my family. In this town I waited for all the shops open and haven't had to TT.

A month after I bought a 2nd copy that was just for growing perfect fruit and later for playing events. I did TT 10 or so days to buy items in the shops and to harvest fruit. Played and hosted events in my town. Found that it didn't spoil the event when I played it in my main town. The event is different when you play with the main town villagers. It's where I learnt how to make a snowboy.
Later it became a real town and I played the events with the same villagers. Now that it's been 3 years I've decided to TT once I get to Sept 15th. Plan on jumping to April 2nd and play until Sept 15th. This way I always have a town in two of my favorite seasons.

I do have other towns that are frozen right now. When I have time to play those towns I do play catch up. Get the rumor talk and than TT ahead to the next day.

I just started a new town that just grows weeds. In that town I did start TTing to grow weeds and to get the golden axe. Along the way I bought out the shop and got Gracie, Club LOL and the Caf? in a short period of time. I now have a town that can jump to any Gracie season I need, club lol for players still needing the badge and the island that I can change if my real towns need late night bugs. Find it relaxing not having to worry about villager leaving since I don't have flowers there.

I had my first town in the summer of 2013, played for about eight months and then sold my copy. I thought I'd never play again, until I started up back in December.

I only time travel to plot reset my villagers. I'm trying to get them in decent spots, and trying to have enough open space to be flexible with their possible placements.

I have a second town that I time travel like crazy to get furniture, bells, and as a backup character if I never need to do anything extra.

I've been playing since it came out to America. I really don't TT due
to losing villagers.

I have played since the day it was released, so almost 3 years. And I tt a lot at the moment.

I've played New Leaf since release, I started playing AC around 2009 on Wild World and I've played City Folk as well. I don't time travel, I did fast forward in my City Folk town a few times but that was only to experiment and due to the bad consequences I stopped doing that. I've never gradually skipped ahead days to do more, though.

Oh, and I don't have any additional towns, I think you should learn to love your town without buying a second copy instead of resetting, there is no need to spend money on the same game. I don't have the time anyway, I'd rather play other games when I have much time.

Yes very good advice, as someone who fell behind and wanted to play catch up by using event dates and tourneys to guide me I always wait or go to a day of a villager turn down to move before moving ahead on which next date I have an events list for the year someone else will ask leaving me free to again slowly play catch up or leap to irl if have fallen too too far due to new town or multi towns or just life hiatus. Yes please remember if you tt your last play date and to move ahead on a day after a turned down move out ping..that for adding this.

Also a side comment about be happy with one town it is a little late on my end and I love the, all dearly separately the town I started with before I even knew of this site in 2013 is going strong some villagers have changed but I just relocated them to other towns. As I know when you have one completed dream town and want to experience a different style and characters is not always a bad idea to have a second copy to let people come and go or obtain more dreams am not against people with multis I even have a second da that was a gift so I could go back and forth between my towns a nice touch so have had that for a year and a half but towns I started at new year still new did fall way behind as I was moving up slowly my old towns rather than hoping way ahead...however I am at the point of my birthday in all towns and the time it would take to get from event to event irl to real time in each I will be in fall again which I just went through to get to Jan 2016 so yes after my birthday the dream filled towns take a safe leap to irl and the new ones will get played to the point of catch up as well so I can play them naturally as intended but it is different for everyone...some people have a lot of time, some multis, some in school, some jobs, some just busy life stuff, I say play it how it feels right and happy for you but yes be careful how you tt especially if it's your only town then again if it is you may not Need to unless it's from day to day as you've done all you can and are behind already or will be. It can be hard to try to play never miss a day without falling way out of synch. Thanks for all the various responses. I see New Leaf as a game that every copy and player is different and I see that more now. Funny my nephew 10 just decided he wanted a 3ds he wanted nothing of it at Xmas when I showed him mine lol but he asked my sister to ask me why I had more than one same game and she had him ask me I think he got it, I will likely gift him a copy along with whatever primary game he wants so he can try it...but yes I think after a few months for me it was 3 when I got town 2 then I got a cycler as a gift but used it to move around my characters and it became a town now I have a town with goals I feel it goes quicker if I leave out the second or alt character except in my forever town..my first.
