I was happy with the first map I chose. I liked the airport and native fruit. MY RS doesn't lineup with the Airport perfectly but it's only like a square or two off and while sometimes I wish it was centered I've grown to like the off center look. 
How long did it take you to reset for a perfectly aligned RS and airport?

About 30 resets or so. In my case it was unintentional as I was looking for the blue Airport with apples as the main fruit tree. The alignment just happened on its own; but I don’t think I would’ve chosen the island if it looked completely unaligned
I was never looking for a airport perfectly lined up with resident services, but I know during my 2 days of resetting, I think I only saw them lined up 2 or 3 times. I would just mentally prepare to go into such a thing with lots of patience ready. Maybe watch a movie while you seek it out. I also wouldn't reccomend having too many other requirements if you want to play sometime before the end of the year (unless you are astronomically lucky). Either way, I wish you the best of the luck with this!
Mine is green. I got lucky by not having yellow lol. I didn't even know this either. I wouldn't have really wanted orange either probably, compared to the other colors at least. Mann I wish I could've gotten blue! But green is fine. Kinda goes with the Tom Nook colors lol. Then again maybe orange would've been nice too...
All that being said. I never reset my NH island. I'm still with the one I started off with on the first try. I'm relatively happy with it. I've been doing an insane amount of terraforming tho lol. I'm terraforming my entire Island so that it's similar to how the towns were in PG lmao. I even just made the big lake that used to be PG haha. My RS is kind of in an unideal spot tho... it's like in the mid right section of my Island. But I just built around it. I feel like it can rock there lol. Terraforming makes a huge difference I feel. In PG I've reset my towns many times to get them how I wanted them.
Do you guys have a video of this aligned resident services and airport? I'm confused about the significance of/desire for it.

The only real criteria are perfectly aligned airport and RS, yellow airport, and not two south river mouths (don’t care if second is east or west). This is so hard!!

I know it won't help at all, but on my 2 hour long journey to get my perfect island (really still happy I got the perfect island so fast)
I saw multiple islands that match what you want.
Of course I never checked them to see what colur the airport was.
I wanted fruit, airport color, river mouths, peninsula, and secret beach to be specifically what I wanted.
And not awful beach rocks. (I got them near perfect)
So if fussy me can do it, less fussy you can too!
This might not be possible, but if you have an irl friend with the game, if you meet up with them, and do a character transfer from your island, you can skip all the creat a character stuff.
And if you buy terraforming from that island, you can have day 1 terraforming

I wish you well but manage your expectations because I also wanted a perfectly lined up airport and RS and when I was resetting for mine, every option I found to match that criteria had two south river exits. Just a perfectly aligned airport and RS with proper distance is rare enough, looking for a non two south facing exits will make that even more rare. Mainly because an East and south exit was important to me
And I was finding one every 30 mins
Of course when you add on extras
That 30 mins becomes hours or days

They may have looked aligned on the map from outside but during my search, they were always one or two blocks off when checking the actual map and placing down weeds to count if the actual door of the RS would align exactly to the airport dock.
I wanted a map that was aligned once
I got it and quit it in the end
But from the 4 hours I spent doing it I know what I wanted

My map now is perfectly aligned too with the proper distance from RS to airport. They’re definitely there but very very rare. Especially if you have other requirements like fruit and airport color. I spent weeks before I settled with my current map. But that’s because I had so many requirements and RNG wasn’t being cooperative.
From my experience there not that rare
But if you add on the extras
Say its 20 mins to find one
So maybe 6 hours by stats

Added tip to OP, to check if the RS is perfectly aligned to the airport dock, you can place weeds to measure this. The RS plaza is 12 wide so when the RS tent is upgraded, the door will be at spaces 6 and 7 so that’s where the airport dock should be for it to be perfectly aligned. Also, Tom Nook stands in the center of the RS at the beginning of the game so when you load up the map and go straight from the middle of the airport dock, you should come face to face with Tom Nook.
