I'm having troubles coming up with a good idea for my mayor's basement. It's a normal house with a bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and library. I'm kinda stuck on what to do with my leftover room. Any cool basement ideas? What have you done with your own?

My basement? I just dump random things in there since its still quite small

all my basement has is an inflatable resetti lol

Most of my basement are dressing rooms with ABM, lovely phone and trash bins.
Main Town mayor has a Gracie summer tables, lamp and dressers with all the Sanrio hats/shoes on the table. The clothing is on the walls. All the villagers pictures are on the back row tables.

Campus College house basement has showers and laundry rooms.
Holiday House has Creepy/Spooky items with tarantula, scorpions and frogs on display.
Pokemon Mayor house has train items from Rovers RV. Placed the train seating on 2 walls with mannequins in the middle for Subway trainer battles.

My mayor’s basement will be a gaming room with an ABD. But I haven’t even thought about my alts... Crud.. it’s hard to come up with ideas ^^’

Mine is being planned as a bathroom/relaxing place in the future, but mainly trying to get all my rooms completed.

Up-stairs is my pastel/kawaii gaming room/bedroom

Top room is my art/digital room

Left room is my fancy/princess room

All still in process! c:

My mayor's basement is an outdoor yard/place for her pets. For my alts, I have a cafe, prison, and a room with a zelda reference. Lol.

My mayors basement is a cute little laundry room. My college campus basement is the library/computer room. My hotels basement is a big ol’ spa!

But if you want a cute little “realistic” basement room I generally like to a guest room, laundry room, office, art studio... just something along those lines.
Heck you could even make it into a garage now that we have actual car items!

Mayor has a garage. When I get around to my alts, my Marvel themed house will be a Guardian's of the Galaxy spaceship, there will be a Pokemon Gym for my Pokemon character and my fourth alt will be a bomb shelter

My basements are my kitchens, but since you already have a kitchen that's probably not much help.

i'm redecorating now but before it was kinda like a gaming/lounge room? with the pinball machine and crane machine and stuff plus a bunch of sofas so that my mayor would have somewhere to chill. mostly i just wanted somewhere to put the mermaid sofa :)))) now i think i'll fill it with a bunch of plants maybe? i'm thinking bonsai exhibit or something i'm not 100% sure yet

Mine is just a birthday set/toy themed room. It is a bit quirky for my homes theme but I really like that set.

my mayor?s basement in my main town is a pottery studio. In my second town her basement is the kitchen.
The other characters have more facility based basements such as music bar/venue and bath house. I?m planning on turning one into a dungeon or vault.

Probably not helpful, but I like to hide creepy skeletons behind boxes in my basement. Because I'm a little morbid and I like the idea that my players are just weirdos.

I'm not sure how I can describe mine properly.
I have more than a town, but in any of them I likely to not plan making functional rooms that are closely related to everyday life. Functional such as, kitchen, living room, cafe, gaming room, etc. I like designing my rooms to represent something that's in my mind.
The basement in my main town is, is... umm kind of a place you talk to/listen to something that may be in the sky. So the room is made to be like, you're lost in the sea of trees? Because sea of trees, it's dark - the room is dark blue. To make it feel like that, I use gyroids and bugs to make the sound something similar to it. And at the center of the room, something big is glowing, reflecting the dim blue light of trees in the back.
It's the room downstairs I go, when I want to be vain.

I love seeing scary/dark themes for the basement, like something unexpected, just for fun. It makes you wonder more about the house, and allows you to create an interesting backstory

I can’t believe I haven’t done this yet but a big ol’ home theater would be too freaking cute as a basement room!
