How has acquiring more bells changed the way you play?

I keep paying off multiple houses on the island, but I also have 20 million bells, so I can afford that. I'm also funding my family's spending habits sometimes, lol. Payed a million bess (and NMT...) just so I could nab an Audie from someone for my brother (she was a dreamie of his).

I don't craft tools nearly as much. I usually just buy them. And if it weren't for the nook miles achievement for assessing a bunch of fossils, I wouldn't bother assessing fossils

At a certain point, I feel like everyone playing gets so many bells that they'll never have to worry about in game money again. What are some ways your wealth has changed the way you play?

Me, for instance: I no longer craft fishing poles, shovels, and nets, and instead buy them from Nook's Cranny. I now only keep enough materials to make one hot item of the day for Nook Mile challenges, and don't sweat chopping trees unless I need to. I'll also buy anything, even if I don't want it, just to have it cataloged, then sometimes turn right around and sell it back to the Nook boys. And I don't bother with turnips anymore because I'm already a multi-millionaire, I don't need more for the hassle unless I'm planning on buying 300 Crowns. I'm sure there are more ways, but those seem to be the big ones that come to mind for me.

Most of this, honestly. I don't really keep track of my materials per se, though.

Everyone and their mother was sort of up in arms, at least on reddit, during launch if you even *whispered* not liking the whole "tools break" shenanigan. Still here a few months later, though, and I can officially say that having to craft tools did not make this game better. I don't even bother crafting them, I just buy them.

I'm resting at around 18 million at the moment. My house is fully paid off so I don't really have a need to spend a whole bunch of Bells. It's nice to have a decent amount in the bank when I want to shop or pay for a project. I don't bother with the money rock and don't sweat it when I see something expensive I want.

I dump everything in the box instead of walking into Nook's Cranny to sell. I buy most tools now, unless I'm too lazy to run across the island to the store. I buy everything at Able's without checking what I already have cataloged. I basically throw bells around like pebbles, I only have 9 mil, but I don't really plan on moving or replacing any buildings, bridges or inclines, so I have no need for so many bells.

I'm considering paying off another house just for storage. It also helps me be less stressed about moving bridges around and such.

This is a good question! I have about 16 million bells right now and it changed my game play by:

-I don't plant money trees anymore
-I've calm down on turnips! Some weeks I'll play stalk market for fun sometimes I don't. But when I buy turnips, it's not as much as I did when I first started. It was a hassle making multiple trips to family/friends islands to buy and sell turnips!
-I always buy my tools my Nooks! I don't have the patience to hunt down materials to craft everytime my tools break. xD
-Not having to tarantula farm + waiting for flick to sell! I did this when I first started playing and it took time to pull apart bamboo island to farm!

Those are some ways I can think of at the moment! Now I mainly just rely on selling fish, bugs, and fossils for bells at Nooks.

I am less stressed out about making mistakes in bridge, ramp or house placements, That's the biggest difference having a bit of money has made. That said, I have less than 2 million bells because I am allergic to hustle.

I have 26 million in the bank because a little voice at the back of my head every Sunday tells me one day if they bring out new stuff I might need it...

Stupid voice!

Like most others I buy tools now with the only exception being if I need a stone axe to hit trees as Nooks doesn’t sell it. I used to shake down and sell my fruit which I’ve stopped doing. I no longer plant money trees or actively farm fish and bugs to sell.

I’ve also finished my fossil collection and got the achievement yet still get my fossils assessed daily. I feel like I’m letting Blathers down if I don’t!

Pascal was literally on that real **** today

I still use the stalk market every week. That might be because I have a turnip farm on my island where I like to store them :) and I still craft all my tools to try and get the milestone but I don’t bother hitting rocks anymore or planting money trees. I don’t go crazy selling to flick or CJ either.

Has anyone given or thrown away all their bells to make certain mechanics of the game fun/meaningful again? I’m toying with the idea of buying as many royal crowns as I can and just giving them away for free to members here so that I can start over closer to zero than 19 million money wise without having to restart anything else

Having money has allowed me to move villager houses to where I wanted them and build lots of bridges. I couldn't imagine wasting time bell grinding.

I still craft tools since i have a million sticks in storage, but not needing more money is making me keep all the expensive bugs for models or just sell them to nooks. I can't be bothered to wait for Flick to show up or do CJ's challenge.

Acquiring more bells has mainly allowed me to construct my island without worrying about the cost of moving a building/house multiple times, for instance. Additionally, I no longer craft my tools, I just buy them all 💀

I still play the same to be honest. I just no longer have to shell out a bunch of my bells for things such as paying off a home loan or moving a building for example.
