How has acquiring more bells changed the way you play?

I'm not as rich compared to other people haha but I don't have much use for bells at this point. My houses are upgraded and fully decorated. I mostly don't do trades to get rare items as I could just work everything out in my cycling island like if I need seasonal items or those stuff you get from NPCs. I could try hunting for them there and completing the items without spending anything. Also, I can always try resetting for specific villagers, if I want to change the lineup in my main island or hunt Raymond again, if I really need lots of nmts lol. Apart from buying tools (I'm lazy to craft them) and occasionally buying stuff from Nook's and Saharah, as I said, I don't have a use for them.

Besides the crafting and tool related stuff, I used to buy only 1 or 2 colors of each clothes in the store. Nowdays I collect all colors of anything that caught my eye or I just think is cool. I sell them later because my storage is already on red numbers, but I got enough savings to not worry about losing money. 😙

I have acquired a lot of bells via a giveaway lately and it's been really nice! I was able to make some tweaks to my island without worrying about the cost if I wanted to tear it down. I was also able to gift bells to friends so that they can pay off their home loans. It's been staggering to find out some of them were still struggling to pay that even after doing turnips and stuff. Now I don't worry when I see things in Nooks that cost 100k+, I just am able to grab it.

I think the main thing that's changed is IGB is now pretty much worthless for trades/sales. I don't think I've made a transaction to pay or receive bells in weeks!

Craft fewer tools and am no longer an active turnip trader. I still sell bugs, fish, and fossils.

With how expensive bridges and inclines are I’ve also bought bells on occasion instead of earnestly working for them. 🤐

I'm no longer buying/selling turnips after having earned enough with them for all the stalk market achievements, so I'm also no longer checking the turnip prices twice a day.

I've stopped saving up bugs/fishes to sell to CJ and Flick (which saves me a lot of storage space), I've stopped planing money trees and hitting my rocks each day as well, and I'm using items to trade/gift instead of selling them at Nook's for a few more bells.

I've got all the bridges and inclines I want, so most of my bells are just gathering dust in the bank account now. There's a few bags lying around that I can grab to buy expensive items or use for tipping.

I stopped buying turnips to make more bells and I buy turnips to make mass moving trees easier.

I sell off my reorderable furniture because I can always get it back. I never kept my fish and bugs for CJ and Flick and only keep them for the models. I buy one of everything at ables.

I tend to buy stuff on Nookazon now since I can pay a lot to get it immediately rather than wait a day (or more) and possibly let my vision sour.

Definitely changed. Feels strange at the beginning everything seemed so expensive 😂 The thought of paying off the mortgage seemed out of reach. Still haven’t bought the crown as have only had it appear once ages ago and the thought of being able to afford it 😳

I have around 5 mil right now, but I haven't paid off my basements and I sometimes I share my bells with my sister. Because of this I still collect and sell expensive fish and bugs to Flick and CJ, and I buy and sell turnips occasionally. However, I don't grow money trees anymore or sell "regular" fish and bugs to Nooklings. I've finished a good chunk of the catalogue so I sometimes will not spend money on furniture or clothes a few days in a row. Finishing the catalogue is not my priority, so I also do not go out of my way to buy the expensive furniture item of the day at Nooklings unless I will actually use it. I mainly use my money to develop my island without limitations.

So in short, my goal for getting a lot of bells was just so I could try out different bridges and staircases without having to worry about wasting my money or running out.

I don't have a ton of bells like some people do...but, I'm nearing 10 million in my bank. I don't see that as "unlimited" by any means. So, I'm still not going crazy and buying everything in sight. That said, I feel confidently prepared for the times when a random expensive item appears in Nook's or Able's. It's nice to generally not need to worry about missing something interesting. I also plan to replace all of my cheap log bridges at some point with nicer ones...but I still haven't got around to that.

I still fish/bug out of habit, but for the most part, I've definitely become less anxious over designing my island, since I can easily have the stores/invest in enough turnips to pay for moving houses or building/rebuilding bridges/inclines. Still takes time though.

I also just buy all stuff like rods or nets.

But I also tip big to new players sometimes. Looking for the last diy's which are some wreaths. Not long ago someone had a villager crafting a diy I didn't had but she was very new to the game. I gave 1 million bells :) I can miss it easily but the happy and shocked faces are fun to watch.

I have 9 mil banked, but I also don't take money out of my savings, so that almost doesn't count, in my calculations.

I still hit rocks and bury money, sell bugs and fish, but I do buy tools, mainly because they're cute.

I think I have something like 22 million IGB right now. (At one point, I had close to 60 million, which I then blew on various things, including buying several hundred NMT back when the rates were not sub-100k). When I first started playing, I did a lot of fishing, tree shaking, and I always hunted for the money rock. I don't really do any of those things anymore; the turnip market is just such a fast way to make money that it's no longer worth it. I can get maybe like 20 thousand bells from the money rock, but I can make hundreds of times that amount by selling turnips at a good price within roughly the same time.

I still craft my tools, but I rarely use them now (e.g. I don't need to use a shovel if I'm not bothering with hitting the money rock).

Unlike some of my fellow multibellionaires, I do still fish and catch bugs and sell to Nooks, but I def use the drop off box after 10 for everything without a second thought. I do have fond memories of plastering my whole island with stacks of fish for the next morning back when 20% was a lot of bells to me, though!

I'm more liberal with using the drop-off box (I still save ultra-expensive fish and bugs for CJ and Flick) and I don't bother hitting my money rock (unless a Miles+ task has me hit a rock and I get it accidentally) or burying money trees anymore.

I don't have to craft materials anymore, and I like that I can choose bridges and inclines based on what matches best, not how much it costs. It also feels nice getting nice things for my villagers too :giggle:

Well, I'm only now getting to the point where I have more bells than I know what to do with. I have five characters and wanted to make sure everyone had a basement so, for a long time, I didn't have a lot of bells to spare 😅 But now that I do... honestly? It makes the game a little less fun for me. I hope they introduce some new things for us to spend on, 'cause right now I'm just stuffing them all in my ABD.

It DID give me a chance to spend 400k to buy Marina, though, so that was nice at least! And it means I'll always be able to move buildings around and build inclines/bridges (gosh, remember early on in the game, scrimping and saving and trying to figure out whether you want to upgrade your house or upgrade your town first?). But, for the most part, IDK what to do with them.
