yes, that's where the pattern comes from. stand in front of it and press "a" which will let you pick a design

Question! Does it work like the posters in the museum and the town flag? Can I put the design in the board, then delete it from my patterns or it will change together?

It will change whenever you change the pattern, like a Mii Mask.
