I’m having trouble understanding how to use the “classic ac dirt path” in acnh. Could someone explain please? I have 12 tiles called the path saved from this creator: MA-5263-1943-4305

You use it to create walking areas around your island. The Path and its variants are popular because it looks like a natural footpath that has been worn down over time. The jagged, transparent borders mark the edges of the path (when placed on the ground, it makes the dirt adn the grass sort of blend together) and you can use the turns to shape it however you like.

Thanks for responding. Are you saying I just need to mess around with it until I can get a handle on it? Can it be used for 2 tile roads? Do I need to lay another path down first?

Honestly, I don't really use them. I only really use them for gardens, I tend to stick to natural walk-ways.

Yeah. Just play with it. You'll get a feel for which pieces go where. This article has a few pics of people using the path as well as other variants that have sprung up. You can see what others are doing with it.

It can be used for two tile roads. I find it works best without another path beneath it, due to the transparency.

Here's one way I used mine. Notice how it all flows nicely and looks just like a large area, as opposed to individual tiles? That's the key- the different tiles are puzzles pieces, basically. For instance, right beside the bucket in front, I have a bottom right corner piece. Right above it, a side piece. Put together, they match seamlessly! You can put together big spaces like this, or just do simple two tile wide paths, or some people offer single tile variants of the path (the one I'm using now does).

That is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. I’m still messing with it but I have a larger area and a 2 tile path laid out now.

Thank you 😊 That was my entry for the first summer contest, the camping themed one, lol. I've changed it a bit since (I've actually moved the camping area over, so the actual campsite is there) but the way the path is laid out is more or less the same. It can take a little experimentation to figure out how to use it, but it's worth it. I've also found that, by using the corner pieces, you can make a cute sort of winding, single tile path... but only diagonally.

I don't use the path. In fact, the only custom path I have is a small train track that circles my pyramid and Sphinx

Do you use the alternative corners or just the 9 plus any 1 tile codes? I originally downloaded all of the corners but wanted to save space for other custom codes I might want so I erased the alt corners.

You can alternate the corners so it looks like a winding path, but they still connect together. Here are some examples:

See the narrow path leading diagonally up to the cemetery? Those are corner tiles connected together at an angle. Here's another view:

Here are some other places I used it:

That's three corner pieces together, with some other corners coming off of it diagonally to make a narrow path (sorry for the poor angle, the path isn't the focus of this pic, lol)

You can kind of see, along the edges of these pics, the same sort of narrow diagonal path.
I'm not the best at putting into words how to do it... Honestly, it's best to just play around with placing the corner pieces together, and you should figure it out pretty quick! It's not a game-changing way to use it, I don't think, but it can help save some design spaces if you want to do a narrow diagonal path, as opposed to finding someone who's uploaded a diagonal one.
