How do you say GIF?

I say it with a hard g. I used to say jiff, but then when I was like 15 my friends were having a conversation about saying giff instead of jiff and that was the fidst time I had heard someone say it out loud so I assumed giff was the proper way to say it lol

I'm in the minority, I pronounce it with a j-sound A lot of people here in the Netherlands say it with a hard dutch g-sound, but I guess I never copied that

Well my problem with this is that I don't say either of those. I say it like it's spelled (G-I-F) because it's an acronym for "Graphics Interchange Format". I do this with any word that's an acronym (except JPEG, I say that like jay-peg).

I'm just like you my friend, I say it like it is a acronym!

Honestly, reading throu these posts, I'm not sure anymore. One time thou, I did pronounce it as jif, cause I had never heard the word pronounced before. My sister who was standing in the room with my was like 'no' and ever since then I have read it as GIF (like gift but no T).
