How do you play Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

I play docked with the pro controller. Early on I was playing handheld, but the game looks so great on the big screen, and it's nice being able to mash buttons without worrying about the joycons.

Most of the time I play it on the Switch. When I play it on the TV, I prefer to use the dog ear with the joycons as my controllers. But, I also have a pro-controller I can use when the drift just gets too bad.

I play mostly portable. My dad is always using the TV. My left joy con already drifts and boy it's embarrassing when my character runs to the right by accident it also makes me anxious for me and the person I'm not visiting or vice versa

I know most people play on the switch but I also know that because of joystick drift it made playing difficult or impossible for a lot of players.

Like me for example, my left joycon can make no other movements other than right no matter how much I tried. So instead I play acnh on a small tv with a gc controller. I'm interested in what other peoples response to this will be

I play New Horizons like I play every game on the Switch, docked with a pro controller. I have never liked Joy Cons, attached or detached, and find them uncomfortable to hold and manipulate (my hands aren't huge or small, I just don't like the Joy Cons).

I do however undock if I'm going to walk around the house for a bit. Sometimes that means I undock when I'm going to take a bath (for relaxing), sometimes it means I'm going to bring it to another room for a little bit because something needs doing. In general I'd say I've used my Switch in handheld mode less than 3% of the time I've actually been using it (so not counting travel to and from places).

I play handheld, but I think I'm going to go with a gc controller or something soon because my left joycon is slowly giving up on me !

I play on the tv when I'm home, handheld when away. Have joycon drift but expecting new joycons next week to finally get rid of the problem once and for all.

I play in portable mode mainly but my left joycon started drifting about a week after the game came out. I toughed through it for about a month then caved in and bought some new Joy Cons. I was finally able to ship the broken ones out yesterday to be repaired by Nintendo so I guess I have some extra controllers now.

My joy cons are unusable so I'm now using an enhanced wireless controller(very weird cause it doesn't have rumble). I have played on the handheld a time or two but that's all because it's way better playing it on my 75 inch tv.

I play exclusively in handheld mode. Worst case scenario I have two extra joy-cons, but neither of them had any issues so far.

I play it docked, but I like playing handheld when I have shooting stars so I can hear them better.

50/50

i’m curious about the pro controller and how people like it?? is it heavy? i love how light the joycons are but i have wrist and thumb issues from ceramics/art/computer use, so idk. im tempted to get a pro controller if it is better for folks with lousy hands/wrists like me. and i also fear drift, i’m on my second pair of joycons lol.

i have the switch lite so i’m always playing in handheld mode, which i like. i’ll usually be laid back in bed or on the couch and sometimes i’ll watch some gameplays while i get through my daily tasks aha
