I have a feeling my parents are athiest but they want me to live a happy life with God and Jesus. And when I go to my cousins house, They all act happy and praise the lord. Weird ehh? Like omg, 1,000th post

My mother grew up in a really strict catholic house. They went to church every sunday and my grandfather would go to church at 6am every day before work. When my parent had me and my siblings they decided that even though we don't really go to church we are nice people and that is all that really matters.

I know what you mean by going to a relatives house were they are much more religious (my grandmas) I am guessing your parents just go along with praising the lord at your cousins house because there is no point in stopping them with their daily religion.

I used to be religious, and I'm still a Christain, but I haven't been to church in almost a year.

I know I'm not religious. I don't let my faith stop me from being human. I am a Christian yes, but I'm not condemning anyone to hell if they're not.

Referring to the extremists?

I'm Christian, though I haven't been to Church in at least 2 years and I lost my Bible. Got this eSword program though...

I think your parents want what is best for you. And maybe they're testing the waters before they jump in. Who knows their heart?

You know you're not religious when you don't do rituals out of routine. You can mess up an fall on your face 100Xs, but know that you'll find mercy and grace once you ask for forgiveness. To know that His mercy is anew every morning.

You know you're not religious when you do things for God not because you have to and not because its what "Christians" do, but because you want to.

You know you're not religious when you have a relationship with Jesus, and by knowing the truth He brings. And by knowing that truth, you'll be set free.

You know you're not religious when you have freedom from Jesus, instead of being bound to religious routine and offering food sacrifices to man-made idols.

i'm not afraid to say this, I hate my church. Everyone there is rude, it's stupid. I'm thinking about switching from Nazarene to Baptist. Haven't told my parents yet though.

To not believe in anything is wrong. Some of you guys are leading pointless spiritual lives... think about it for a moment. I'm not condemning anyone here (not my style), but I encourage some of you to think about spirituality a little bit.

Please make the distinction between religious and spiritual... I am personally not "religious" because there is no established religion that I agree with 100% and am thus willing to adhere to. Thus, I culled elements from various religions -- notably Judaism and Buddhism -- and act accordingly. I am certainly not the most ardent believer, and I have a very liberal philosophy, so it goes without saying that fundamentalists and ultra-conservatives get on my nerves... but that's another story.

hm, almost everyone I know is atheist (except my father's side of the family), so i'm an atheist, but I do believe there is something more
it's not like; oh praise the lord that i've got this job etc. but i'm more likely to believe in the afterlife, reincarnation and stuff rather then going to church to connect with god etc.
what if there isn't anything and you're doing all that stuff for nothing? well, it's just what makes y
