How do you know how many visitors you've had?

I want to upgrade my train station exterior, but I don't know how many visitors I've had so far
help?

If your tree is big enough, sit on the wall in front of it and at the end of town history it will say

i'm pretty sure it shows up in the credits when you sit on the edge of the wall around the tree in your plaza
