How do you guys deal with the abundance of DIY recipes?

Initially, I threw duplicates of DIYs I had already learned in the basement of my Resident Representative/main character's home with the intention of selling or trading them on here, but that filled up quickly and I found myself too lazy to bother with actively trying to offer them on here. As general storage became a concern, and because my island's theme of world history and cultures made me want more characters, I started making extra characters and I routinely give them some of my duplicate DIYs if I think they might fit the character. Otherwise, they just ended up being in scattered groups around my island.

I'm tired of how my basement hasn't been able to be used due to being full of the things, I'm tired of the Happy Home Academy telling me to get rid of them, and I'm tired of seeing it being mentioned in my island evaluation, so I let my best friend to go through them and get as many as she needed yesterday. On Monday, I'm letting my other best friend look through what's left, and after that I'm either going to give them away, if anything notable even remains at that point, or sell them to Timmy and Tommy to finally be rid of them.

I sell them or give them to my friends. I just made a dump that I'm putting rarer or wanted DIYs in for when I open my gates for people too. I might start tossing random amiibo posters in there too and just replace them when they get taken.

I keep them in a "free DIY" box for anyone who comes over. Usually, ones that I've noticed have been there for far too long get the axe and are sold. Some in particular, if I know for sure people won't want, I'll instantly sell. Seasonals always get kept.

I have a couple of friends (and my mom) who play the game sometimes but not often. They visit my island a lot so I actually do need to keep recipes for them. They fill up and drain pretty quickly.

I used to hoard them in my house, but eventually it got to the point where I just wanted to get rid of them but also wanted to see other people get some use out of them, so I ran a week-long giveaway for all my DIYs and actually managed to give most of them away. Now I just sell most of my DIYs, but am keeping any crown/wreath/seasonal DIYs around just in case.

I usually sell them but if it is a rarer one like a wreath or flower crown, I save it to trade for the other recipes I'm missing.

I used to leave them on the beach and sell them here on the forums. However, it got to the point where I had no more room, and I just decided to sell all to nooks. I don’t let them collect anymore. If I already learned it, I immediately sell it. The hoarding impulses are there though.

I just give them away except for the seasonals (i’m thinking of selling the shell pochettes to nooks soon though). I’ve stopped saving my regular diys for awhile now.

I put them in front of my entrance, and let my kids go through them. The ones they don't claim go to my alt characters. The ones left over from that get sold. There's always at least two or three laying on the ground waiting to be used.

Get some tables. Probably four. Load DIYs on top of them. Stand in the middle of the tables, open the construction app to use the clean up option. Go to the RS, pick your tables out of the box, and repeat.

I still have some in one of the rooms on my main characters house (mostly extra seasonal, or crown / wreath DIYs). My alt character was basically played only to upgrade his house for storage, and now has most of my duplicate DIYs scattered throughout that house.

Seasonal DIYs aside, I used to keep them so I could let people who visit my island grab them, but later on, I just dispose of it because I barely go online with this game anymore. UNLESS it's a flower wreath or crown DIY.

But since I recently made a new character, I just give it to him.

I just sell them to the Nooklings. Since it is detrimental in every way for me to keep them except on the offchance I feel like hosting a sale or giveaway here, I feel like I have to avoid this botched feature of the game. It really does feel like you're supposed to trade them - they're cards for goodness sake - and yet somehow the entire point was missed entirely by not allowing them to be stored, AND counting as trash! It does baffle me. If this is fixed I'll become an active DIY trader, definitely.

Ughhhhh I get so many that I just throw all them away because I can't be bothered dealing with them hahaha

I’m a hoarder and have a whole section of my beach dedicated as a diy dump. There sooooo many 😭 I tried selling them/giving them away in the past but it’s kind of a hassle tbh. Tempted to sell them all at Nooks except the rare/seasonal ones (most of which I give to friends anyway if they don’t have them)

i have quite a few stored in one of my side characters’ house. diy trades have slowed considerably over the last few months but i don’t particularly enjoy the thought of trashing something that someone might be looking for at some point. that being said, i no longer am keeping any extra diys that i get unless they’re rare and any common ones that i get will get trashed c’:
