how do you grow money trees in animal crossing city folks

i have a gold shovel but any time i plant money with the golden shovel it is not a money tree can anybody help me thanks :gyroiddance:

Each thousand bells you plant determines a percentage rate of a money tree growing. For example, 100 bells= 1% chance money will grow. 1000 bells = 10% chance, and 99,000 bells = a 99% chance. Hope this helped!

I always do 99k and it does take much trial and error, I recommend you keep trying.

I had to lose over 300k to make one of the Bell Trees in my town.

Bury like 10,000 bells. Then, you have to water it EVERY DAY for it to grow money.
