How do you feel about the update?

I love it! After 4 years of nothing, they really did justice with this update by supplying us with new content!
I love the new campsite feature as it allows you to invite to your town new residents that couldn't before! I also love how you can summon Whisp to gain access to your amiibo and being able to gain that specific amiibo's items as well as move in the villager it comes with! Sitting on rocks was even a bigger surprise to me as I didn't expect that. At least it gives those permanent boulders a purpose a bit lol Hanging up clothes? YES! I was thoroughly surprised by that much, let alone the new CT icons. I use to HATE it when rude players would block you from leaving the island by putting on a tour and stopping you or just standing there with their inventory up. Now, they can't do that anymore with the new "Quick Call". Thank goodness! It's awesome that you can even turn off certain chat to islanders as well! GG Nintendo. No more raging childeren to worry about.
The whole MEOW points are very cute as a new feature. Being able to do new everyday missions had allowed me to get back into this game by it now constantly giving me something to do with a purpose and reward! Pretty clever. Being able to trade in those points for money is a neat touch too for those who want more ways to gain income. The amiibo camera is pretty fun as well! I can just sit there for hours playing with the camera and having my Mayor/Villager just pose with other AC residents!
Overall, this was definitely a much needed thing for all of us AC fans, and imo, it had turned out successful! Hopefully, they add more amiibo to this new feature (which is very likley) so that we have more fun items to play with!

Are you sure? I was able to plot reset a villager that I scanned with Amiibo.
The update is amazing though. I love it, there are so many new features and there are even some new stuff to notice that wasn't even mentioned in the direct. For example, you can now sit on rocks and you can get random items from the balloons now. New fortune cookie prizes, and if you pass your towns anniversary of when it was made you'll receive an adorable sapling clock :33

I love it! The changes are lovely and I adore the new RV grounds. My first visitor was Pave and I got some nice furniture!

Well, it's certainly interesting. I'm super glad it's not all about the amiibos, 'cause I was worried it was just another cash grab at them. The new villagers look interesting, and the whole new incentives really give the game a bit more purpose to play. The only thing I dislike is how random the RV park placement was. It looks super awkward in both of my towns. But nothing I can do about that.

These are some GREAT changes especially in a game this old. I love that they added functionalities past the amiibo and actually did some huge quality of life changes. The HHD thing they added to make designing rooms better was something I only imagined in my dreams. Never thought they would put it through. The 360 additional storage slots are also incredible.
The only thing holding me back from REALLY loving this update is the QR spaces werent raised and inventory space is the same. I know it's a bit of a silly thing to be picky about but I feel if they could add the HHD interior design functionality they couldve added a few more QR slots

Tbh idk how much I care outside of being frustrated that I was so close to getting my gold catalog badge, and now this is probably going to make it next to impossible for awhile, I spend real money. I also dont get any benefit from the amiibo thing, as I dont have a new 3DS that can read cards, no external reader, and no cards. Im also not sure I want to spend money on those things for a few added characters and stuff.
The plot resetting makes me nervous since I still have 2 more dreamies to get. Hopefully if I get them via the villager trading section Ill still be able to plot reset. Ive spent hundreds of hours perfecting my town, and I dont want my last two dreamies to throw a wrench in it all.
I do like somethings though. Like the extra storage is amazing and I love how there are now mini daily quests. Im a sucker for daily quest type things, so it will definitely keep me interested in the game longer.

I plot resetted for amiibo villagers multiple times & so have everyone I know that's played it so far?? I don't get where this false info is coming from. I think someone started a rumour because they did something wrong.
I don't know if it will really change the catalog badge requirement. I assume that the badges are based on the number of items in your catalog based off the original catalog rather than a percentage of the updated catalog. So if you needed 1,000 items (I don't know the real number) before, it is probably still 1,000 items except that there are more items you can get now. Changing the badge requirement was probably not a high priority of things to put in the update.
There are a lot of great features, and I am extremely happy that Nintendo are beginning to update their older games rather than release completely new versions all the time. Really glad Wisp is back as well.
That being said, I can't play it yet because hacking isn't possible anymore and I don't have any kind of custom firmware installed yet, so to avoid losing everything I've done I'm just gonna wait for new exploits to come along, which they no doubt will soon.
Also, Woolio isn't back, which kills me.

It gives this well loved a game another chance to be experienced in a new way, so I like it a lot! Granted I haven't tried the new update, but since people are considering getting back into this game thanks to it, I think that's good enough 
I'm quite happy so far. My campground appeared right next to my town plaza which makes me happy since having the plaza right next to the cliff was an eyesore and the campground entrance really opens things up there. I'm looking forward to getting the storeroom tomorrow so I can clean up all of the crap laying around my town which was part of the reason I got tired of playing before.
