I've been playing both NL and NH and each game has things I like and dislike about them.

I'd say the best things about New Leaf are it's multiplayer aspect, huge selection of items, & unique amiibo villagers.

I really, really miss it. I still love it even after all these years : as much as I love New Horizons, NL still tempts me a lot time to time.

Well I don’t play NL as much as before, but I play it to check on my villagers and listen to the nice music there. That’s it... I do miss it so I comeback sometimes.

It gets repetitive after you've played it since release and I'm looking forward to getting NH ! I think it'll be refreshing.

I disagree. I’m finding New Horizons boring in comparison to New Leaf. I didn’t even play NH today
I still enjoy playing New Leaf every now and then. Sure, it might not hold a candle to the graphics or terraforming that New Horizons has to offer, but I still play for the nostalgia. New Leaf has wayyy more furniture and sets, easier flower gardening, golden tools that didn’t break, and villagers with more personality than a cardboard cutout as someone said in another thread. Plus, I’m planning on resetting my whole town and I want to know if I should or not.
I’ve played New Leaf since 2016, and I still intend on playing it and trading with others until I finish my town, which will take a long while. Resetting might be refreshing, and I would have more control over my town and make better decisions on building placement. If you already have a 3DS, you should definitely buy New Leaf! It’s relaxing, fun, and complete! 😄

i still love new leaf but i haven't really played it after new horizons got released. i'm sad about this though

I only just started playing New Leaf during this pandemic quaratine, so it's still really new and exciting for me. I've heard people say that the servers might go down because NH is out now and that makes me really sad. I really hope that's not the case because I'm really enjoying the community I've found here on TBT.

I don't own a Switch (too expensive 😖) so I have no opinion on NH, but I think even if I had it I'd still play NL.

Like the person above, I only started playing New Leaf during this pandemic quarantine. I haven't played it since 2013 because of university and other life events. I never got to experience the Welcome Amiibo update so it's relatively new and interesting for me. I don't mind repetitive stuff and don't find New Leaf a burnout as it's not a burden or an obligation, it's something I play because I enjoy it :)

The only worry I have is that if the servers eventually go down, it might be harder to get certain items in the game as those require trading with other people online (region exclusives or DLC). Getting Welcome Amiibo items will be difficult unless you get all the Welcome Amiibo cards but they're very pricey at the moment, maybe in the future when normalcy returns and Nintendo release more stocks of the cards. New Leaf is a game that can be played solo by itself but online trading will definitely be missed

I think NL is still really good in 2020 and I'm (obviously) still playing it, but I think if I could afford the switch and the game I think I would be playing NH and NL at the same time? I think both games are good in their own ways, but playing NL when I've seen gameplay from NH definitely seems dated especially with the graphics 😂 I've seen so many people talking about online going down but I have no clue where people are getting that from I've literally seen nothing saying it's going down?

it's been a few days since i properly played, but i want to get back on soon since i've been busy :/ i still enjoy the game, but i can't play consistently for a long time.

I can’t see nintendo taking the 3ds servers offline until or if they release a new handheld system

i'm always on the verge of getting burnt out, new leaf is fun but i can never just play it every now and then. i either play every day for hours or i don't at all.

i finished making my own paths and my first town is pretty much done. landscaping-wise it's 100% done, and i have all 10 dreamies. nowadays i just play there to make sure that my villagers don't move out and breed flowers for my second town. i'm also trying to get my catalog as completed as it will be. i'm somewhere around 85%. still trying to also get a few golden badges there.

i mostly play in my second town that i started this year. it's looking great and i'm close to finishing it too! still got a long way to go to get all gold badges on both mayors (especially on my second town mayor) but after that i can finally be somewhat satisfied.

Still playing New Leaf and game cube AC today. New Horizons l'm not interested, but l'm still helping a lot of old friends on new leaf with money.

I haven't played New Leaf since New Horizons came out but I had a lot of fun with it over the years and made a lot of fun memories but all my attention and time is devoted to New Horizons now.

I feel you. Also NL is one of the few games that I can still play because anxiety😐

I don't really think any of those poll options apply to me. I still play it once in a while. I'm not burned out but I am taking a break from it since there isn't much going on in my town on there. I would say it's still fun but I don't play it every day (hell I barely play NH every day). I never truly "move on" from an Animal Crossing game. I might put one of the games down for a few months but I always pick it back up at some point.

I think I could get back into it if I got a second copy so I could start a new town though! The only thing is after seeing the beautiful graphics of NH (especially those flowers) idk if I could ever accept the graphics of NL again lmao.

i havent even been playing it for years. i bought it on nintendo eshop bc it was on sale and i could afford a switch lol. turns out i fell in love with the game! its so much fun and im glad ive found a community who still plays the game despite it being quite old and theres a brand new ac game out
