So I started playing AC:NL again last week (I'm also back on the forums. Look, here I am!). The problem is: I froze my town at the 29th of March, so I have a lot to catch up on if I don't want to mess up my town... How do y'all deal with these kinds of situations? I made a poll above.

mine's currently stuck in november 2017 :< I have to TT over a whole years worth, but that's the safest option in my opinion.
sometimes I skip 5 days at a time but only after I make sure I stop a villager from moving the day before.

Advice: There is a safe option so that no villagers will move out while tting. This is possible after a villager has notified you that they are leaving. After that villager has pinged you, save and quit, then you can use your clock to safely time travel to the current date without losing any villagers with this huge time jump forward on your clock.

To answer the poll: It would depend if I have the beautiful town ordinance on or no. If no, then I would have to go day by day. If yes, I would use the method above, and go straight to current date. Recently, I had been very busy and missed a couple days of play. Yet, went day by day because the town is new and it's my first winter/snowman events and I don't have the beautiful town ordinance enacted. Otherwise, I would have skipped to current day and not play the days I missed.

What ExaLeaf said above. If I get really behind with the game, or take a break, there's no need to lose villagers. I just keep track of the date last played on my 3DS Notes App. I make sure BT ordinance is enacted. I then play day to day until a villager pings to move. Then I can jump straight to the current date or any date I choose (if I want to play a missed event).

Oooof I’m so glad you’re back. You make such nice maps!
My town is never on the actual date since I time travel a lot. I try to always go back to the same date and go from there since I would hate to see any of my villagers gone. Of coarse most of the time I forget the day when I last play so I just come back and take a hit *sigh*

Yeah, that's almost exactly my situation! I've been doing that last week, too, but I'm considering just taking the hit and rolling with it.

Thank you for this! I think I'll do that, getting the BT ordinance and waiting for a villager to ping me for moving out. I have a bit of bad luck here, because tabby pinged me just yesterday. (actual yesterday, I haven't TT'd in two days)

I'm really lucky I had the foresight to note the date on the 3DS Notes App as well! Just last week I looked at the date and I was absolutely shocked that I hadn't played in 8.5 months, it feels like yesterday that I made the decision to take a "short" break!

It's funny: before reading this comment, I looked at your name and thought "Hey, I remember you, I made that map for you!"
Your name is weirdly memorable...

I’ll probable order a second one from you soon :D
I resently redid my town over and the layout is a bit different. I don’t have everything set yet, but when I do, I’d love one for the second town!

Well I just had the worst of luck... Tabby wanted to move out, and I said no to it. I was all happy running to the town hall, but then I found out that today was also the fishing tournament of 14/04 sat, so I couldn't change the ordinance. Whoops...

Nice! I think I'll be able to do it way easier this time, because my map-making used to be unnecessarily complicated!

I thought there was a way to TT safely, but I didn't know for sure. Thanks, ExaLeaf!

In the past I've usually TTed a week at a time. Villagers don't move for 10 days, as of the welcome amiibo update, so going a week ahead gives me time to find out who's moving, stop them from moving, and continue. I have the BT ordinance, so that's not a problem for me.

Beautiful Ordinance takes effect the next day. It's good that you weren't able to get Beautiful Ordinance after you stopped a mover. If you jumped ahead months you would lose flowers and have weeds.

I jump ahead after I stop a mover in my casual towns. Check the date that I plan on landing on to see if it's a villagers birthday or an event. On those days it's hard to get a rumored mover and the birthday villager could be the mover.
When you arrive talk to all of your villagers and get the where have you been out of the way. Than talk to them to get the rumor mover or mover ping. Most of the time I've had a mover after a big jump. It's important to talk to all 10 villagers. One time I missed 3 villagers. The next day one of those was the rumored mover.

Unrelated, cause when I haven't played in forever (this doesn't happen anymore) I'd just take the hit and go on with my acnl life, sort of like a punishment for not maintaining the town, but-

Is your map shop still open? I think I'll def buy a map of Moriyo, Treehut and Secret need to be landscaped more until I buy maps for those towns.

I missed the entire month of November and replayed every day just to get the entire Harvest Series.... yes I know I'm crazy :"D

I'm behind too, I've just been taking it one day at a time as I need the MEOW coupons.
I go through the days fast so it's not too bad, I go forward as soon as I get pinged after ordering.

So should I TT every time to the nearest birthday or can I just TT to today after I denied a villager moving out?

Well it's not officially open, I kind of need to get in the swing of things a bit more. You're welcome to ask for one, though! By the way, should I start a new thread or just stick to the old one? I think I'm going to up the price a bit because people said 10 TBT was too low

I just take the hit, I can't be bothered to do any of the methods lol

So, I have good news! I just denied Apollo a right to leave, and the BT ordinance is in effect! I'll make a backup and TT to today, and see if everything goes according to plan!

I'll be updating this post below.

Ahh... Bedhead, a stuffed inbox and weeds right in front of my house, nice! I'm not used to seeing snow in my town, but I'm glad to have caught up with the season!

"My mom" gave me a perfect orange! I don't have oranges, so I'm quite happy with that.

There are a lot of weeds. I'm really sure I had the beatiful town ordinance...

I do. Okay, nevermind then

Oh, I did have oranges. Alright!

In the end, everything seems okay! I'm going to talk to all the villagers, but I can't find some. So I guess I gotta play hide & seek now...

I've just opened up my game after months of inactivity!! I forgot the date I opened the game so I went a few months back just to be safe. Got my villager to ping, blocked him, then skipped to today's date. Everything is safe and sound, only my dirt paths are now completely gone ha :p
