I see people with these AMAZING towns and they tell me they have reset their towns like 100000 times! I don't understand? I mean, I get it sort of because after I finished my first town I wasn't sure what to do, but I got my second and started designing it and it gave me something to do... But what i DONT get, is how you reset so often, you reset something you have put SO MUCH effort into, it's your choice but like- If i had your design skills I would never ;; n ;; like, for instance, I bought a second copy of the game BECAUSE i just couldn't delete my first- I put so much time and effort into it, and I've connected with my villagers (sounds kinda sad, I know)

but people just give away all of their items and restart again- It's just- I don't understand anymore.

I don't know, I just reset mine after I haven't played for a long time and I just disconnect from it, but I never really accomplish anything in my towns so I don't know how it feels.

I never really understood the whole idea of resetting your town unless you got bored of it and wanna start new again (kind of like how people beat a game and because they enjoyed it, they want to start fresh). For me, I feel like once I get my town to how I like it (all my dreamies, paths perfect, etc), I couldn't possibly restart anew. For me personally, I couldn't restart a game; why demolish something you worked hard on? As I said though, that's just me and my opinion.

I know right, a lot of people reset them so much, even when i tell them that i liked their former towns a lot too. They keep resetting...

I've reset mine a few times. First times was because I stopped playing for like a month and lost 3 dreamies, I missed them so much and it didn't feel right without them, so I re-set. Then I played on the new town for a while, and ended up getting a second copy. I stopped playing on the first copy in the end, because the second required so much more help and attention, that I had no time for both towns. I also did the whole plot-reset thing on the second town, and the paths and everything, but I thought it was waaay too artificial for my liking, so I decided to re-set again.
Now this time I ended up resetting the first copy again, so I still have the 'perfect' town that I put a lot of work into, I just don't use it anymore!

I completely agree, and I have that with other games as well - how can people just delete all their Pokemon?!?

I have never reset my town, and I don't think I will. Idk, I just don't get why I would do it. When I wanted to get another town I bought another copy of the game, I would never reset my main town.

I've never reset my town once in any AC game... I didn't even reset for a better map or anything. To me it kills the fun.

Yeah exactly, but I bet some people maybe aren't satisfied with their towns right? I don't know, even then I wouldn't be able to cause I love my town(s) </3

Oh yeah, I kind of understand, I have my second town too, it's a lot of work but I maintain a good balance in between in caring for them. If that made sense or not sorry I just woke up xS

Exactly what I did! But I will admit, it became a little tough looking after both towns when you're excited about and prioritizing the other town. But I find a way.

Well, you're definetly entitled to your own opinion,
But I think it's mostly because when they're finished with their town that it kills the fun for them, so they reset, some don't like their villagers, their fruits etc, resetting constantly would bug me quite a bit.

Yeah I just recently reset my town but it's cause I didn't play for months and wanted to start over as well.

Some people just get bored easily, and want to start fresh. In hopes that they'll find pleasure in playing the game again. For the most part it works. But not in every case. Some constantly restart over and over again. If that's how they enjoy the game, who's to stop them.

The grass is always greener...;)

I have reset a few times. I must say I learn more about what I want each time I reset.

I love all my towns. Each one is unique. Yet if I were to reset, I would let the villagers plot where they wanted. Once you start plotting you must plot forever.

The people who reset constantly, week after week? Or month after month?

I think some people are addicted to the thought of resetting in the hopes of finding an "instant perfect town".

Utopia does not exist.

I reset my first town because I screwed it up. I decided to time travel like crazy for whatever reason, and as a result most of my villagers moved out. It's not that big of a loss though, because that town wasn't very good at all. I like my current town so much more than my old town.

Hmmm, I think they like the challenge of meeting that goal, and then coming up with a new vision.

There was a really awesome member on here who ended up giving me a TON of extra bells and rare items (including a full Princess set and a bunch of Rococo items, a crown too!) after I gave her TBT's for a dreamie villager who was moving out (Fang!). Anyway, she has three games, and I think two are ones where she resets a lot?

The one town I visited was beautiful but I totally get where she's coming from where she likes resetting with a new theme in mind after you've finished everything. Also some people really like the aspect of coming up with new designs and whatnot.

I imagine getting a new cartridge for every new village would be a lot of keep track of, you know? I have two and it's already enough on my plate haha. Three would definitely be my max number! After that it would be reset time!

I am wayyyy to sentimental to reset. ;-; I technically did once about a day after I got the game because I screwed up the intro questions and my mayor was super frickin ugly hahaha. But I kind of think that even if all my villagers left and I had new ones, I couldn't reset now. I love my town too much even if it's not perfect.

i already accomplished everything before i reset; a dream town, all dream villagers, every badge obtained, etc. it got boring afterwards, so i might as well just reset and give myself something to look forward to doing every day again. i dont see it as hard work being wasted, just as a fresh & new beginning

I have six towns because I wanted that new game feeling, and I love to decorate. I couldn't bare to erase any of them. I think of my games ( and everyone elses ) as art.

I've only reset a town once, and that was because the town sort of became a mess for me and I wanted to start over with a whole different idea. For me, it's basically that unless I've practically abandoned the town, or it's just not working for me, I will never reset it. If I get bored of my town, redo it. Delete some characters. Rebuild some homes. Do something besides just resetting the whole thing.

For me, I really could not reset my town because I've put so much work into my town!
I can see why some people reset their town because of bad house placement or just an ugly map or something.

If I wanted to start over fresh and new, I would just buy a new copy of the game!
