How do i make hybrid flowers?

i want to spice up my town and add some hybrids but how do i do this? any help is appreciated

Plant flower next to each, water them daily, and try to to keep villagers and visitors from trampling them. Planting various colored flowers beside each other will produce different hybrids. For example, I believe white roses planted next to white roses will eventually produce purple roses.
I think the best pattern to plant them is criss-cross or in an X format. This is just the simple version, though. There people who know a lot more about it than I do.
