How do I find a Golden stag?

I know the where, what time and how to catch them but I cannot find one. I have been trying ever since July 1st and have not seen one. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I caught mine at 4:15 AM on a whim to check a few palm trees before I closed down the game for the night. I couldn’t believe my luck

i've been weirdly lucky with seeing them on my own island, but an easy way to find different bugs is to go to a nook miles island and cut down all the regular trees/dig up stumps/flowers/etc., and keep running around the island and scaring all other bugs away!

I caught a golden stag within a hour. I have a beach full of palm trees. You just have to cycle back and forth until it spawns. It's advisable to scare away or catch the other bugs.

I keep clearing off Nook Islands so that bugs will only spawn on Palm trees and have caught every other bug but cannot find the Golden stag.

That is what I have been doing but can't get one to spawn. Honestly I haven't spent much time on my own Island looking maybe that's the trick lol

I did this for over two hours and caught none of the rare beetles I was after (though I caught a few rare ones I already had). Caught all the ones I needed on my island by chance. Like true love, I think beetles only come when you’re not looking for them

Mine was by luck I guess. I loaded my beaches with coconut trees and just ran back and forth, either catching other beetles I saw or scaring the others away.

Maybe I will try that because have been clearing out nook Islands for days with no luck.

I caught mine in my own island. I didn't do any mystery island tours.

I also cleared the mystery island of all trees except 2 coconut trees. And all flowers I got rid of too. Took a bit of time but was able to get all the rare bugs.

honestly it all kind of just comes down to luck. like others have suggested, nook mile islands are good but you seem to be utilizing that. also having a bunch of palm trees on your own island definitely might help. but like insulaire, i just happened to get lucky right before shutting down the game at around 4am one morning and managed to randomly catch one. they’re definitely a pain to get. good luck ^^
