how do bells work?

you know when you have some bells but then the next second you post something you have wayyyy more bells than you did before? is that supposed to happen?

i never got 500 bells... all of my bells are just from posting in brewsters cafe section!

In most of the forums here you get a certain amount of bells every time you post. The longer your post is, the more bells you'll earn for that post. Therefore, if you post a lot or make quite long posts (or both), the amount of bells you have will go up very quickly. You don't earn bells for posting in the Introduction Board or The Basement, though.

You also get welcome bells, but I'm not sure how many.

to get the 500 bells you have to post in the welcoming/introduction forum if im correct

yeah, you get 200 for starting and 500 when you introduce yourself, thats how it worked for me.
also if you wanna try to make some bells quick, i say talk in the brewsters cafe. i talk on so many threads there and makes tons of bells a day. especially if things get heated. it's a nice way to earn bells. and you seem relatively new, so welcome to the forums
