i was having trouble even finding any at first but now i've made a list and it's way way to long how did u guys shorten your list of dreamies? or how did you pick them? because i've been looking at people's signatures and some ppls dreamies are so diverse and that's how i want mine to be
not to mention it's so hard to pick snooty, uchi and peppy villagers because they're so ugly i can't
i feel like this is highkey self explanatory and im just dumb but anyways

thanks for the advice!! i already have 2 dreamies so far (lucky & beardo) but im thinking about, molly, lily, kyle, bob, ankha, genji & snake :)

I don't shorten my list of dreamies! I keep it like that because if one of my dreamies moves then I'll have a whole other bunch of people to move in :)

yeah ofc!! but i meant more like i don't really know who to move in right now

Decide what PWPs you want for your town and then pick out some of your dreamies from their personality categories. :)

for me, i just chose the ones that looked the prettiest and went with that. but i don't play acnl much, and the only dreamie i have rn is whitney, so i don't care too much.

I decided on dreamies before getting the game.
I was a little late to the party, getting the game in late 2014 after insistence from both my fiance and best friend who both played the game.
I looked over the list of villagers for about a week and decided which ones I liked the most and sort of tiered them based on personality, design, house, etc.
My favorite, above all, was Pekoe.

Then, I kid you not, when I started the game for the first time without any resets Pekoe was there to greet me.
It kind of solidified her as my number 1 villager then and there.
I still don't have all my initial dreamies, but I love some of my other villagers so much for sentimental reasons that I'm content with what I have between my two villages. :)

Barely. It's so difficult to narrow down who you want in your town, but it's good to have options! I'd say focus on personality types, then from there choose ones that might fit your town the most.

I'm really indecisive so it's hard for me as well :( I've quickly learned that being cute cant be the only qualifier cause so many villagers are cute in their own unique ways ><

I have a few that I know I want but a huge list of villagers id consider for the last few. I think the qualifications I'm using to really narrow it down is diverse personality types and exterior of houses need to fit my town colors (autumn so im really looking for Earth tones/black houses). Unfortunately I already have 3 lazies and 2 normals as dreamies LOL. I really need to pick up an Uchi for a while to get PWPs but ew

I made sure I chose at least one out of every personality grijp and then to narrow it down even more I asked my mom and my boyfriend who they thought were cutest.

Visit dream towns, lots of dream towns. Interact with villagers, see if they can fit in with their personalities. And watch them running around town to decide if you'd like to see them all the time in your town. For example: I liked Bluebear but I hated her after getting her in my town. Something about her looks-personality combination seemed off and I also realized I don't like the cub villager shape enough to see it all the time. Also, I liked a tier 5 after getting him randomly and talking with him. He was no near of my dream list before that.

This is actually really really good advice. I felt a similar way about Lolly >< so so cute in pictures but after having her in my town for a bit (not to mention she came out of someones void so it completely messed up a path) I realized she was meh. Her stripes really put me off and she's just kinda bland.

I went on the wiki and went through all the villagers by species I liked and wrote down their name. I then narrowed them down by the personality groups (if I had too many of one I'd take my least wanted villager off)

I think not having permanent villagers helps, or not having all permanent villagers at least. I have a lot of favourites and a few actual dreamies. The dreamies probably won't leave, or won't leave for a long time, the favourites will go as and when I want to try out other vilagers. It keeps things fresh and you get to experience a lot of villagers. I wouldn't get too hung up about who you choose, go for the ones you like the looks of the most to begin with and then you can try them out, you might find you don't like them as much as you thought and let them go sooner than later.

Having multiple towns helps me get and keep as many dreamies as I can. I don't choose them based on their popularity but rather my own personal likes or dislikes.

It's good advice to go meet villagers in dream towns when trying to make the decision. That's the best way to figure out how the villagers are really like and who you like best. It takes some time if you have lots of villagers on your list but I'd say it's worth it. It should narrow down your list. If you still can't decide on every dreamie, maybe you can narrow them down some more by choosing a villager of every personality type or different species. Or pick villagers who go best together (t.ex. looks or species wise) or who (and whose houses) fit your town best. If that doesn't help enough either to determine every dreamie, just obtain the ones that you decided on and see about the other ones later.

Right now I'm still in the early stages of landscaping so I try to get at least one of every personality type and then add from there.

Beau has ALWAYS been in my town (older and newer) so that leaves me with nine. I never really considered him a 'dreamie,' but I'm not going to banish a villager that has always made the effort to connect with my mayor.

I don't stick to villager *themes* because I feel like it's important to have diverse neighbors. I aim for villagers that look like they would have unique backstories. However, there are some villagers I like simply because I think they look adorable af

I pick the ones that are cute in my opinion. If I have trouble deciding between two villagers of the same personality (like Maple and Molly), I try to decide if I like one slightly better than the other, then get that one. I got Maple because I like her slightly more than Molly.

From experience I usually don't do well with "dreamies" because I eventually get bored of them or they lose their appeal when I finally obtain them. I prefer villagers moving in randomly and then deciding whether I want to keep them or not (judging by whether I think they're cute, their house fits, etc.) My favourite aspect of the game is the town landscaping, so I decide on the "first 8" pretty early on and landscape around them, the next two usually either solidify my town villager list or I cycle them out after a while.

I grabbed villagers from the personality groups I wanted PWPs from, then used the diving trick to get all the PWPs. Once I did, I slowly began moving villagers I didn't want out to make room for the villagers I did want. My dreamies aren't from each villager personality.

I picked the cutest ones and the ones I felt the most connection with. If you really can't decide on ten, you could always get another copy. ;)
