Hello! I am in desperate need of inspiration for decorating villagers yards. I'd love to see pictures if you have them. My theme is nature/rural.

So how did you decorate your villagers yard?

I decorated mine Like this~

So I don't have "yards" per say because I like my villagers to have plenty of area and I think the neighborhood idea is just really sad....

Renee has a rainbow rose garden with all colors of roses and on pillars of cliff there are matching colored nova stars.

Erik and Aurora live on a snowy mountaintop, erik's being more cozy christmas cabin and aurora being a more frozen palace where there is a lot of frozen pillars and partitions

Timbra has a large estate with some of the pinecone stuff and elegant/chic furniture, and the entrance to her house is a church

Jacques lives in like a little art district, where he has a painting on one side and bookshelves on the other and will get a statue garden close by too. The painting is the mysterious painting, and overlooks a little lake where I recreated the landscape in the painting. Inside is Boots' house which can be accessed via a swamp with lots of bamboo and little waterways all around

Julia's house lives in front of a 2 story resort with two rooms, so she is kinda like the innkeeper, its right on the beach where there is a spa area, place to relax

Tangy lives right by me, so our little compound is just all the fun furniture I like, its just a cool place to hang out

O'hare has his own little tropical nook. His house is surrounded by cliff, on which are hydrangeas, pansies, and coconut trees. He has like a gangplank-esque floor around it where he has a picnic set up, then a sand castle, beach ball, go-board set up, and marimba on the beach... its also by my pier

The last villager is chief, I haven't gotten a theme yet for him, but I saw some cult looking stuff today and I may try to incorporate that around his house if i can lol

I tried to do it based on the things my villagers like in their wiki profiles. They seem to enjoy the furniture you put around their house if its based off their interests. I also separated them by who gets along well with who so you can see them hanging out in the neighborhoods together. (I have multiple neighborhoods)

Most don’t have a fenced off area or equal amount of space. I just use the area around it. Plant flowers/shrubs that match their colors or favorite colors, use their skill and goal as inspiration, house interior and any personal headcanons I have for them.

As example, Bones’ goal is to be an explorer, so I have a typewriter, globe and whiteboard so he can plan his adventures. Personally I’d think he’d be into beekepping to have an infinite supply of honey for snacks, so I have a few hives nearby.

Mine are not in a neighborhood, they are spread out.
But i have fences around their houses in a yard.

I do mine all different. Please pretend the mannequins are not there. I'm making a rock garden. Mannequins everywhere...

I have the two snooty ones together, elevated above the rest, of course..

I have my villagers in a neighborhood, my house in near by the four on the highest level you can build on.
I've been slowly moving my villagers houses into the correct spots and I've been decorating them to fit each villager.
I wanted my villagers to have bigger yards, so I changed that up when I started redesigning my island. It's still a work in progress, but this is few yards.
Moe's house, Tom's house, where Tangy's house will be and where Kabuki's house will be.

I usually put furniture that matches their colour scheme or they seem like they would enjoy in their yards. I occasionally put flowers beside their doors that also match their colours.

Here are some of mine that fit your theme. Hope this helps!

(sorry it's dark) Basically just a little picnic area with rocking chairs, but it's nice.

This one is basically just a farm. Might be good if you have a villager that could pass as a farmer. There's a few watermelon patches, and a beekeepers area that weren't shown in this pic.

I mainly have fun coordinating flower gardens layouts and add a couple furniture that matches the villager’s stile... Some have more space, some have less, so that changes

This is Erik’s yard. He was one of my Dream villagers, and I found him very easily, so I wanted to really show my love! ❤️ Critiques/thoughts are welcome.

For my jock villagers (Dom, Tybalt, and Jay), I gave them an outdoor gym / recreational park. Stella has a little farm with the fruit orchard next to her house. Audie has a little surfboard shop. Skye has an outdoor pool and tropical style yard. Sherb has a celestial garden. Tammy's yard has green / orange / yellow flowers in her yard. Ruby has zodiac furniture and a royal themed space. Finally Flora's "family" (the flamingo furniture lol) is throwing a wedding reception in front of her house.

these are some of the yards ive designed so far~

tybalts house exterior is a little more cabin-y/rustic so i tried to match the furniture!

walt's house is more zen and beachy so i of course opted to put his house on the beach - which also let me give him a 'backporch' of sorts!

I don't have pictures, but I try to give them different sidewalks, things in yard, like flowers or bbqs, lawn mower's, flamingos etc.. based on their character.
