How did you choose your town name(s)?

My town names are always from Video Games and Anime/Manga.

Current town is named Laverre after a town in Pok?mon that has a very nature like appearance and atmosphere.

My town name is based on the world of Lunares in Fantasy Life.
I was pretty addicted to Fantasy Life before I got ACNL. I didn't really know what to name my town so I just chose Lunares lol

I panicked. I was always going to name my mayor Sparky as a tribute to my first ACGC character but it didn't even occur to me that I would need a town name. When Rover ask me where I was going I got desperate. So I thought " Sparky...spark...lightning bolt...ok I'll name it Bolton." I just think of it as a learning experience. If I ever make a second town I'll think of a name before I get on the train.

Before I made Everleaf I came up with a list of ideas and like, everything I wanted or planned for the town. I wanted it to be a very medieval/fantasy seeming town, based heavily on Elvish architecture and design, so I tried to come up with names that sort of fit that theme. I can't remember all the names I had listed, but aside from Everleaf I had Alfheim, which is a home of the Light Elves in Norse mythology and Seradine which is a location in World of Warcraft. I ended up asking some friends what name they thought was best, and Everleaf won, so that's how I ended up with it. c:

I can't remember what my first town was named. I've gone throuhg quite a few, including things like: Moonsong, Elunas, Ivy Lane (I loved this one), Magnolia... I have a second town named Teiera, which is Teapot in Italian, but I'm debating whether or not I'll end up keeping it in the long run, as I'm focused more-so on Everleaf right now.

I ended up choosing Sovietka for my new town name. Because of reasons.
And I didn't go with my irl name for my mayor, I went with Maxima. I love that name.

I named my first town Camelot because it was the first good town name I thought of, probably because I was watching the show "Merlin."

My town is named Fishbowl, as it's a tribute to the passing of my pet fish (the mayor is named Betta).
In the past I've had towns named Kani (crab in Japanese - on my JP copy), Absalom (a town from the Pathfinder RPG), and Latveria (a place in the Marvel comics).

I also received second copy as a platinum reward off of Club Nintendo - I believe I'll be naming it Teacup, with a mayor named Rose.

Creyal, mix between crayon and aquarel, because i love painting and vivid, Rainbow/sunset colors!

My very first Animal Crossing Population Growing town was named Sunville. I named my New Leaf town Moonvale in honor of that. Plus.. I really like Moons.

I had trouble figuring out to put after Moon, but Moonvale sounds so nice to me so I chose that over Moontown or something like that. It's been so long since I decided. xD I forget all my old ideas.

I like greek mythology, and greek culture, so I chose greek names of actual cities to be my town names

My first town was London because I've always wanted to go there. I think it's pretty cute.
Galaxia is my second town because I plan to make it starry\space themed.

Mine is called Ciel (sky) because it's based around an idea of this girl who lives in a town in her dreams. I'm also just drawn to shorter town names and every other idea i had seemed really long ;P

I like food
I thought of food I liked
I specifically chose food that matches with the town hall and station color I have

Starbell (My original town that I still have on my physical copy of AC:NL) just randomly came to mind when naming my town. It's kinda cute considering the coin version of the bell currency has a star on it. So, there are stars on the bells hence Starbell.

My second town that I just started today is named Moondust. It's going to be Sailor Moon themed and "You've just been moondusted" is one of my favourite lines from the anime in season one. ^.^ So it works.

First town was Wyncliff, because it's the street that my ex-boyfriend lived on, but I always loved the way it sounded. It sounds peaceful and I really like it still, but I reset my town simply because I was done with my previous town. My town name is now Droplet, it's alright. I think it's cute and simple and I wanted to have a more foresty/rainy feel in contrast to my pink spring town of Wyncliff.

Zora (my first town I end up restarting) I name everything Zora idek y
majora/BEN (the first creepypasta I liked and I love majora
Space - cuz the song Space monkey and placebo ref's Space a lot in songs
Amazon/Leftey3 (my town I shared with my mom but she kinda took over) Leftey3 was the rapper of group TLC who died on the way to/from the Amazon. Shes an inspiration to me and looking back the name is kinda morbid but idc

I've been rewatching My Little Pony and somehow Everfree just sounded so good. Granted my town isn't exactly going to be some spooky dark forest to match the name of the forest in MLP, but it just sounds really nice.

I always try to name mine something that fits the feeling of my town. My first town Bellune was slow-paced and dreamy and Bellune was put together from the french words "belle" and "lune" so it meant "beautiful moon" :)
Now my town is called St. Mare because I'm doing a seaside town theme.
