My school is doing a sleepover tonight with my whole grade, and I'm going without my parents. To most this would seem normal, but I'm a type one diabetic, and they normally test my blood sugar in the middle of the night. They won't be there, and I'm a super heavy sleeper. Plus I can't set an alarm because then it'd wake everyone else up. So I need to stay up until 3 in the morning so I can test myself. I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night, so I have that going against me. How can I keep myself awake? My friend can't stay up with me because she has to get up early for work tomorrow. And I can't have coffee or red bull or anything.

Well.... You could try taking long naps before you go, that way you won't feel as tired when you get there, but then again i'm not sure how long you'd be up.

You could try having them call you? (But then the ringtone could be disruptive to the whole class...)

Is there a Chaperone (sp?) coming? You could ask him/her (If it's not too much trouble) to wake you up.

...That's all the ideas i got. Sorry if i couldn't be more help.

Go for a brief walk, keeping your muscles awake will in turn keep you awake
Drink plenty, especially of tea and/or water
Eat carbs to give you more energy
Do something interesting and try not to think about being tired or sleep, the thought will subconsciously make you more tired

this.

the phone + earbuds are another way

i'd suggest playing an interesting handheld that you love. think platformers, or something action-ey, not RPG/text-centered

Every 20 minutes start doing physical excercise, or bring a DVD player/iPod and watch an action movie with loud soundtrack

on a side note, wow I wish our school had a sleepover D:

Guess my previous idea was a no no :3

You could always just hang with your friends??? I'm sure you'll keep each other up.

Well, what I would do would be to fool one of your friends by saying, "Hey, lets stay up. All. Night. Long." Then when they agree you test yourself at 3:00 AM and fall asleep then tell your friend that you just couldn't stay up and you passed out. THE END.

Sleep in a different room than everyone, then use an alarm. Have them test your blood sugar earlier.

It went well. My friend who had to go to work stayed up with me anyway, so yeah. I was able to be up. And the alarm thing wouldn't have worked because my phone still plays the alarm out through the speakers, even if it's on silent. Thanks for the tips guys :)

Although kinda ominous, I appreciate that Psycho :D

And as for the suggestion from Chimera, I really didn't want to do that. I've done that on over night trips with the school in the past, and it is honestly lonely as hell. This is the last sort of trippy type thing, and I wanted to be with everyone else.
