How can I get rid of the giant fossil in villager's house?!!

I got Lolly from my friend's town, which is lucky! I like Lolly a lot.
But the only thing is, there is a giant fossil in her house!! It looks so ugly and make her house hard to walk, cause it takes lots of space!
I have tried to send some bigger items like bed, salad bar to Lolly, hoping she will replace the fossil, but she just didn't!
Now i really doubt whether I can get rid of the fossil in her house,,,,,,;A;

Anyone got the same situation..?;A;

Talk to her until she asks you to come visit her house. Talk to her inside her house until she asks if there's anything you really like. Try and buy the fossil.

yeah,,that's what i am thinking as well. it seems like the most reliable way to do..:/
i have to be patient, lol

Worst comes to show you can try to mail it items of the appropriate size (1,2,or4) and hope that they will change it themselves. However this may be very risky in them changing something else in their house

I'm fairly certain you can't buy the fossils from villagers homes, just like bugs and fish.

In addition to what Xanarcah said, if you want to replace the fossil with something, try sending her an item that is the same size. Usually, sending items that are the same size as what you want to replace in their homes works best (at least, in my experience) since they'll just use that spot. Sending bigger items doesn't work as well (plus, if she replaced it with something bigger, it could just make her house worse). But the best way, if your issue is that the fossil is taking up too much space, is to wait until she invites you and then buy it from her.

Do you know what item is the same size as fossil..?
I have sent her a double size bed(forgot the series name) and a salad bar, but she just replaced something else..

Yeah, they won't sell fossils. I tried to buy one from Francine and she says that it's her favourite furniture xD Try sending Lolly some large furniture and she might replace it c:

I'm having the same issue with Marina, who I got from a friend who in turn got her from someone else. Not matter what I send, she just won't put it back where the big fossil is.

Either when you go to their house for a visit, try buy it off them or send them furniture the same size

I would keep mailing her furniture of the style that she likes, since that would increase the chance of the fossil being replaced, and of the same size. There's a guide on Thonky to help you.

I just wanted to say I laughed when I saw the thread title. Another hilarious thing I will never be able to explain properly to my parents and non-gaming friends. I now realise what a close shave I had when Baabara asked for the Amber which actually does look good in her house.

Ugh, never give them fossils. I went through this with Rudy and the back end of a T-rex, of all things. Funny when I'd talk to him in the house and he'd start roaring and pretending to be "Rudysaurus Rex", admittedly.

It was awhile back, so I'm not 100% on this, but I seem to remember he wouldn't let me buy it either. I finally got lucky and he pinged me outside to say he'd got tired of it and could I get him a replacement.

I suggest you keep mailing Lolly appropriate stuff. When she puts it in the wrong place at least you can buy it back when it's furniture. Good luck.

I had the same problem with Maple for a very, very long time. They definitely do NOT sell their fossils - they say "I just can't bear to part with that!" or whatever. Her fossil was HUGE - the biggest size, so I sent her a regal bed which she used to replace the fossil.

I had to send the bed about 3 times before she finally replaced it, but it does eventually work.
