I gave Marina a dress, only to realize I don't really like it on her (I now know you can check with Harvey first to test them out) :( I complained about her outside, and she changed back, only to go RIGHT BACK to the very dress I hate. Does anyone know if there's limit of outfits they could have before cycling old ones out? Honestly just want to way any way for her to get rid of it lol.

I have no idea. I gave Hazel a dress once, she wore it for ONE day and never wore it again... she ended up hanging it on the wall. I guess she didn't like it but because of this, I also gave someone else a gift they had given me (white full-body tights) and they would wear it often... it was a bird so it looked like a dress instead a full body suit, which made it bearable. But I would also like to know!

I wonder if complaining multiple times would work

I'm curious about this too. Static was gifted a baby romper by another villager and I hated it, so I gifted him two cool shirts. He hasn't worn the romper again since then, and it's not in his house. He usually wears one shirt and sometimes wears the other but no more romper. I'm hoping it's gone forever...

That sounds pretty cute though, Static in a baby romper. xD

It just doesn't fit his personality imo, it was funny at first but after a while I was like WHYYY. He literally calls himself an old man and me kiddo, so it's weird

Mitzi held on to a dress I gave her for over a month. She hasn't worn it in awhile. I would say after 4 or 5 clothing items seems to be the trick. However, I keep giving Canberra clothes because she keeps wearing the gawd awful caveman tank and it just makes her look hideous and comically ugly with her perma-angry face. I am curious if there are just specific clothes they keep that fit their personality.

Yeah it's really odd, the outfit I complained about is for some reason what she insists on wearing today. I guess I'll buy similar clothes I've already bought her and just keep forcing them on her everyday until it goes away.

i'd reccommend looking into her preferences, i think you can find this on nook plaza? like i've seen stuff where sometimes villagers will wear the clothing they like more than what they don't based on themes and colors, like there was a post where people were talking about how certain characters wouldn't wear dresses but it was based on the colors/themes instead of the fact it was a dress

i hope that helps!

I believe it's a maximum of three clothing items. I've given Diana four pieces of clothing so far, but I noticed she stopped wearing one of them (the first one I gave her, which coincidentally is the one that she likes the least based on her preferences). I gifted her a wardrobe and was able to check that in it she only has the last 3 items I gave her, and that the first one is nowhere to be seen. Plus the wardrobe interface does seem to hint only 3 items fit there at a time. Maybe you could try gifting her a wardrobe so you could check it too?

Yeah I'm going to do a mix of these two. That's probably why she's wearing it so much; it probably fits what she likes and the colour is in the pink spectrum, so I'll just give her three things based on what she likes :)
